ICU

by Gabbyalex and Warrior_Prophet

I tremble; shake as I gasp with fright

Collapse to my knees beside you on the floor

Caressing your hair awaiting the blue flashing light

Tears fell on the face of one I adore

Some wounds never heal

Exposed to sharp objects and debris

They blister, bleed, and peel

Of the horrid past, the owner might never be free

That was me, here and now it’s you

I can’t interfere; you say it’s not my place

What else does a big brother have to do?

When you scream your anguish in my face

We're family, but our blood ties couldn't be thinner

You lie; twist my heart, creating fresh bruises

Hating me, clawing my scabs like a savage sinner

I vowed, in the end, you'll be the one who loses

So many times I’ve got you out of trouble

And now you‘ve bitten off more than you can chew

It gives me no pleasure to burst your bubble

I have fresh wounds now as you flat line in I C U
