Our cognition bent to the will of the inventor
Driven by greed, our love for machine outweighs
That of our fellow man and woman and
Our souls are sold to a techno god it seems

Human fingers slide and dance over black screens
iPhones and tablets become Androids preened
Loved by the millions of us two legged things and
Bees are dying, lost in the madness it seems

An alternative universe assembled for the mind
Of all mankind so we no longer have to see
The misery of war in a world being plundered and
Global warming creeps by, unnoticed it seems

Eyes down riveted to little worlds of social pages
Facebook replaces the voice phones and ring tones
Road crossings become safety zones of imaged bubbles and
Butterflies pass by unseen, no one cares it seems

What will bring us back to the land of the living
A fingers press on a button so crimson
Where a world so blue turns fiery hue and
Hell dawns uninterrupted? We are all blind it seems
