Chapter 42

Jennifer's POV

It had been a couple years since myself and Sirius got married, Lily and James not to far behind, then we both had kids, I had a baby girl which we name Dahlia Melissa Black and Lily had a baby boy, who they named Harry James Potter.

I smiled as I looked over Dahlia and Harry play with each other, after Harry was born we were forced to go into hiding since Voldemort was after Harry due to some prophecy, so we took it in turns looking after the squirts while the others were out fighting alongside the order,

"Knock knock" Mel's voice echoed from the front door, I went over and was tackled by the twins giving me a hug, before they ran into the front room to go see Harry and Dahlia,

"Hey" I greeted Mel pulling her into a hug,

"It's good to see you" she smiled as we pulled apart, walking into the front room, Dahlia's eyes lit up as she stretched her arms out,

"Mmm" she called out, I chuckled while Melissa picked her up,

"Hello Princess. How are we?" Mel greeted,

"Auntie Jen?" Aurora asked, I hummed

"Can we have a drink?" Valeria asked, I nodded and went into the kitchen getting them some juice and making Mel a hot chocolate, I handed them their drinks,

"Girls what do we say?" Mel asked,

"Thank you!" They chimed before sipping on their juice.

"Hey Jen?" Remus called out,

"Kid's room" I replied as I place Harry in the cot, "I've just settled them so it should be easy for you" I stated, he smiled and nodded, pulling me into a hug, "Good luck, it's your turn" I chuckled before leaving.

"It's him! He's here!" James yelled making my eyes widened before Lily and I jumped up from the kitchen table and run up the stairs, followed by James, we burst into the kids room Lily picked up Harry, and I picked up Dahlia and holding her close to my chest as there was an explosion downstairs making the kids jump and Harry began wailing,

"Lily, Jen go...I'll hold him off" Prongs stated,

"But you have no wand" Lily whispered,

"I'll do it wandless...just get the kids out...I love you" Prongs said as he gave Lily a kiss and Harry a kiss on top of his head before leaving the nursery, I looked down at Dahlia giving her a weak smile, before placing her back in the cot, alongside Harry,

"Protego" I whispered as there was a thud, making Lily gasp as tears escaped her eyes, the nursery door creaked open revealing the man who was after us, Voldemort,

"Please..." Lily pleaded as she stood between the cot and him,

"Avada Kedavra" Voldemort cursed and Lily dropped to the floor with a thud making my eyes widened in horror, while Harry cried for his Mum I noticed Dahlia pulling him into a hug him, I let out a strangled yell as I charged at Voldemort.

3rd Person

"Mamma!" The little girl cried, the cloaked man approached them and aimed his wand at the young boy as both of the children stared at him with their tear stained faces, "Protego" The girl mumbled,

"Avada Kedavra" The man said again as the green light emitted itself from the wand but rebound as the man dropped to the floor, leaving the two infants crying staring at their mothers bodies,

Sirius' POV

Remus and I apparated outside our house and my eyes widened as the door was opened,

"Dahlia" I muttered before running into the house, I ran up the stairs and stumbled into the wall as Prongs' body was laying on the floor lifeless, "No..." I whispered, then the crying hit my ears, I passed Prongs and slowly approached the kids room, I gasped falling backwards into Remus who caught me, Lily and Jen's bodies were sprawled across the room alongside Voldemort's while Dahlia was clutching Harry in the cot, "Thank god" I whispered as I picked Dahlia up and Remus did the same with Harry, "Its alright, my flower. I'm here, Daddy's here" I comforted her while rocking her, there was a thud behind us making me turn around to see Melissa on her knees staring at Jen's body,

"No, no" she sobbed, I approached her, crouching down to her,

"Mel look at me. Melissa?" I demanded, she did so and her eyes landed on Dahlia, to which she let out a sound of relief as she took her off me,

"Thank god you're okay" she cried as she held Dahlia into her chest, I stood up,

"I'll be back soon" I asserted, Melissa stood up, as I walked passed her,

"Where are you going?" Remus asked,

"Peter" I answered as I walked downstairs, the two of them following,

"Sirius stop! You go after him and you'll never see Dahlia again! Do you want that?!" Melissa called after me as we went outside, I stopped momentarily,

"We trusted him. I need to know why" I replied before apparating away.
