Chapter 29

Jennifer's POV

"Alice! Hurry up! Jenny needs to wash as well!" Lily yelled through the bathroom door making me chuckle as I shook my head,

"Alright! Relax!" She yelled back, I sighed as I looked at my dress running my hand over the material,

"Nervous?" Lily asked as she appeared next to me, I rolled my eyes

"No...but what if this is too much" I say mentioning the dress, she took a deep breath,

"That dress is perfect for you. So, quit worrying" She said, the bathroom door opened, and Alice came out in her robe, "Finally! Hurry" Lily said as she pushed me inside, I quickly showered before drying myself off and putting my undergarments on with my robe and my hair wrapped in the towel as I entered the dorm,

"Yey! Now we can get changed!" Lily cheered before we sat Alice in the chair, I did her hair which was small waves and Lily did her makeup which was light eyeshadow and peach lips, then it was Lily's turn, her hair was straighten and pinned up leaving her fringe out and her makeup was dark eyeshadow and nude lips, then mine, I had light eyeshadow on with bright red lips as my hair was curled and pinned up as two strands were left out, we all changed into our dresses with our heels before smiling at each other, I held my hands out to the both of them, which they took and we made our way to the common room, where Frank, Prongs and Padfoot were waiting, all their jaws dropped as we came around the staircase, I handed Alice and Lily to their dates as Padfoot came over to me, he bowed and kissed my hand,

"You look breath taking" He said, I smiled

"You scrub up quite handsomely as well" I say as I straightened his tie, he smiled and held his arm out for me,

"Shall we?" He asked, I chuckled and nodded

"We shall" I say as I took it, we entered the Great hall, which was decorated in a Christmas theme, we came to a stop and prepared to dance, "If I fall it's your fault" I say making him chuckle and shake his head,

"Don't worry, I'll go at a pace you can handle" He said making me roll my eyes, the music began, and we danced as the song came to a finish Padfoot gave me a final twirl before dipping me, so that our faces were extremely close to each other, he smiled which I returned as we stood up and bowed/curtsied to each other, we walked over to Lily and Prongs,

"I'll go get refreshment, Prongs?" Padfoot said, I nodded in acknowledgment, he and Prongs disappeared.

"Oh my god!" Lily squealed as she held on to my hand, I smiled at her, "You and Black are so cute together. You've got to get with him" She said with a bright smile on her face, I raised an eyebrow

"Alright, who are you and what have you done to Lily Evans?" I asked, she gave me a deadpan look

"Very funny" She said, I smiled sticking my tongue out at her as the boys came back and handed us our drinks,

"Little chaser" Moira said in a sing-song voice as she and Gerard came over to us, Gerard having an arm securely around her waist making me smile,

"Moira, Gerard" I greeted as I accepted the hug from Moira as Gerard and I exchanged a nod of acknowledgement,

"I must say it's about time you and Black got together" She said, my eyes widened,

"We're not-You've got room to talk you've been sub-consciously chasing Gerard for years" I retorted, her eyes widened as colour rushed to her cheeks making me smirk,

"Doesn't matter now" Gerard mumbled as he pressed a kiss against her cheek, she smiled leaning into his touch, "You better hurry up Black before she slips through your fingers" he commented, Padfoot hummed in acknowledgement as the two disappeared into the dancing crowd.

It was the end of an amazing night and we were all retreating to our rooms, we got to the bottom of the stairs that lead to the girls dormitories and I turned to Sirius,

"Thank you for tonight, Sirius. I had a lot of fun" I smiled,

"Anytime love. I enjoyed myself" He smiled, I placed a kiss on the corner of his mouth, stunning him

"Goodnight Sirius. Sleep well" I say as I made my way up the stairs,

"You too" He replied making me chuckle.
