Comebacks and confusions

Zoe's POV

Andy looked uncertain if he is going to talk or not, I looked at him "Can I talk to you alone?" He finally spoke.

"Yeah, sure" I smiled back at him. "Can we talk in the pantry?" He asked and gave me a tight lip smile. I nodded and he went to the pantry first and I was following him from behind.

When we reached the pantry it was empty since it was early in the morning and people were starting their work. He walked to the glass window still following him. I looked at the morning scene of the New York, it was beautiful. The skies were blue and the sun was in its shining glory. We were both silent and waiting for the bomb to tick.

"What do you want to talk about?" I smiled and decided to face him. He looked at me wide eyed and he was rubbing the back of his neck. I smiled at him again and feeling nervous at the same time. He took a step towards me and he was just inches from me.

"I still love you Zoe, I still do" his voice was pained. I froze to where I was standing and I looked at him in the eyes; shocked.

All the memories that we had was coming back at me from the first day we met till the day we broke up. I felt angry and sad at him "You left me Andy" my voice was turning into a whisper. He hold both of my hands and he was looking into my eyes.

"I know, but I have my reasons Zoe" he reasoned out. I glared at him "yeah, you left me because you found someone that can give you the pleasure that you needed" I took a step backward. I was still hurt with what he did to me.

His eyes were pleading for forgiveness and I was getting drawn into forgiving him; he still have this effect on me. Where I will forgive him and continue to love him no matter what. "There was no one, it was all a lie" he said in a soft tone.

What the actual fuck? Hearing him makes me want to slap him. "Is this some kind of a sick joke? A pathetic reason to get me back?" I asked tears were threatening to fall but I was forcing myself not to let it fall.

"No Zoe, this is the whole truth. Just listen to me" he squeezed my arms gently. "I didn't cheat on you! It was just an excuse to make your life better. Seeing you work different part-time for the day, earning money for college and for your mom. I don't want to be an added baggage to you. Seeing you tire yourself, I really want you to focus on your life" he said and he was nervous as hell.

"I don't understand you Andy, you made it clear that you don't love me anymore and you found someone else" I asked hatred lingered in my voice. "You were so busy with your jobs that I thought that our love was not in the right time. So I decided to break it off and lie to you. I just don't want to see you work more by me demanding more in our relationship." He said his voice was still convincing me to believe him.

"For the past years, You were on my mind and my heart. You were my last girlfriend Zoe and seeing you now. I want you back in my life" he said full of love and hope.

I was getting more confused by the minute. My hand immediately went to the pendant that Max gave to me. "Do you realize that if you just talk it out with me and not jumping to any conclusion or decision, we can make our relationship work? But no, you decided for the both of US. you decided to leave me and worse is you lied to hurt me. You were never, remember this ever did become a burden to me. I chose to love you and to be with you." I let out all I wanted to say to him for the past years.

"I'm really sorry Zoe for every thing. But I still love you more than anything in the world" he cupped my face and rested his forehead on mine. He was silent and his breathing were shallow. It was kinda comforting.

"I'm sorry Andy but I cannot return the love that you still have for me. If you just told me the truth from the start, we could still be together. But I'm really sorry. I'm with Max and I really do love him" I closed my eyes and finally the tears fell down slowly.
