I breathed heavily as I felt Moonlark's telepathic senses keep our hoods on. There were a few daggers hidden inside my cloak and by the way the Guard was holding me from behind, I could easily grab the daggers.

...

Stupid...

"Show your face!" I heard a very familiar voice say. I looked up and thanks to Moonlark's camouflaging skills, I could see outside of my hood but they can't see it. I bit my lip... Fitz... He was glaring at Moonlark's figure, who must have been so shocked to see him for she hadn't moved at all...

"How about no?" Moonlark asked in her disguised voice. In almost a split second, she has stabbed the two Guards holding her and had another dagger at Fitz's throat. As the Guards froze in shock, I took this opportunity to bend down and swipe them off their knees before plunging my dagger deep into the Guards chest.

"I will warn you now..." Fitz said, sounding like he was fighting to keep his voice steady. "Surrender and maybe the King and I will consider not killing you." he said. Moonlark wavered. I could tell it was because of how close they were. Mr. Forkle... He didn't know, but I had overheard his conversation.

He's trying to make Moonlark into a living robot... He's been trying to help her cage all her emotions inside before they explode as she falls for Fitz..

"You really think we would do that?" Moonlark asked in her fake voice, a little higher than usual. "We should kill you right now. You have no one to protect you. With you gone, we're one step away from conquering Enternalia." Fitz paled and even I could tell that this was too far. This wasn't Moonlark.

"Moonlark..." I warned in a deeper voice than usual. Moonlark's hood looked at me, I could see how emotionless she looked under the hood. Fitz looked at me, eyes narrowed into slits.

"Why do you sound like a boy version of my sister? Did you do something to her? What did you do?" he demanded. I sucked a sharp breath.

"So? Wouldn't that help us?" Sophie asked in her dominating male voice, a little shaken. Fitz squinted furiously, trying to see pass Sophie's hood. Oops. Shoot. I just realized. Sorry. Moonlark.

~Moonlark~

I cannot deny how fast my heart is beating. Fitz is so close to me and I could see how intently he was trying to see me. I looked down at my dagger, inches away from cutting into his throat. Something inside was urging me...

Just get it over with...

One quick cut is enough...

I bit my lip as I watched my grip on the dagger press just a bit deeper. Fitz's eyes widened, feeling the cool metal cut his skin. He struggled against me and I felt his body struggling against mines as I held him against the tree with mines.

"Dont. Try." I warned. He gritted his teeth as he tried to find some way out of my steel grip. Some part of me fumed as I pressed the dagger harder against his neck.

"Moonlark..." I heard Flooder whispered so softly that only I could hear her. She sounded so scared that it made me loosen my grip on Fitz, pulling back. His fists came up to punch me and I quickly stopped it, shoving him against the tree.

"You're lucky this time..." I muttered in his voice. He glared at me, his eyes darkened with anger. Using the hilt of my dagger, I hit him hard on the head. He let out a gasp before collapsing as soon as I let go. Bending down, I saw him fighting to stay awake. Was that not enough? I looked at Flooder. She signaled me yes, looking away and I dove a quick cut on his arm. It went from his elbow, curving around to under his open palm.
