You glanced at the words written on your wrist for the hundredth time that day. "Fuck sake Jaskier". Bewildered you wondered how that was the first words your supposed soul mate would somehow say to you.

"Who's Jaskier? Is he their lover? What if they've fallen for another?" You thought to yourself as you lightly ran your thumb across the words.

"Stop staring at your bleeding wrist girl! Make yourself useful and go fetch us some bread!" You heard your father shout at you from across the farm.

You sighed and picked up the long skirts of your dress and made your way to the stables to ride into town. You could walk, but you enjoyed the feeling of the wind through your hair as you cleared your head.

As you drew closer to the small bakery you saw a bard singing a song that seemed to have everyone in town singing along. You climbed off your horse and made your way into the bakery to buy a couple of loaves of brown bread.

You thanked the baker and made your way back to your horse. Just as you neared your horse you felt yourself being pushed. You tried to keep a hold on the bread, but it escaped your grasp and landed in the mud along with you. You sighed and mentally prepared yourself to be scolded by your father when you returned home with no bread.

"Geralt get ready to protect me" you heard a man say from behind you.

"My bread," you said as you got up and tried to clean the mud from your hands and face.

"Fuck sake Jaskier" you heard and you felt your heart jump.

You turned, not caring that you had mud everywhere and saw the bard from earlier hiding behind a tall muscular man with white hair. A Witcher.

"What did you just say?" You asked as you walked closer to him, a finger pointed in their direction.

"Geralt why aren't you drawing?" You heard the bard ask, fear evident on his face.

"This is no monster Jaskier. Right now you're the monster" the Witcher whos name you gathered was Geralt said.

"I apologize for the bard. You wouldn't believe how much of an inconvenience he truly is" Geralt said as he looked into my eyes.

"What did you say! Say it again!" You said, grabbing his clothing. He looked down at you and for a few moments seemed to become angry, then they widened.

A small smile crept onto his face and then disappeared. It was there for a few seconds and then was gone, but you definitely saw it.
