chapter 4- ask

marisela: i did all my chores made dinner and had everything done before the sunset so they said ok

adan: dam you have to do all that to go out?

marisela: yea

he stopped and hugged her by her waist

adan: you really did all that to see me?

she nooded and smiled he side smiled and kissed her .. her first kiss..

there wasnt anything she wouldnt do to see him

every sunday she would cool dinner for her parents early enough so they would knock out

adan: why cant i pick you up from the front door?

marisela: cuz .. uh they think im leaving with a friend thats a girl haha

adan: you havent told them you have a boyfriend?

they hadnt made it official

maricela: i didnt know i was your girlfriend? haha

adan: haha do you wanna be my lady babygirl?

she smiled and nodded he kissed her

maricela: theres one thing though

adan: what?

maricela: im not allowed to have a boyfriend like at all .. but i dont care i wanna be with you

adan: and i wanna be with you too but dont worry we'll keep it on the low from them

maricela: ok

they spent the afternoon together

he walked her home around midnight

adan: ill meet you up at the street sign in the morning ok?

maricela: ok sounds good

they kissed and she went inside to her luck her parents where still asleep .. she got ready for bed and went to sleep

vero: maricela!!!

she shot up scared

maricela: what?! whats wrong?!

her mom threw an empty box of sleeping pills at her face

vero: you know what that is?

she picked up the box nervously

maricela: a box of sleeping pills? mom its 3 am i have to be up early for school come on?

varo: i dont care if you have to be up in a bit those arent mne or your dads

maricela: there not mine either i swear!

vero grab her from her hair

vero: i know your lying you know how i feel about pill popping!

vero beat her severly .. until she got tired

vero: i never wanna see this in my house again you hear me!!

maricela: ok im sorry!! please stop!

vero threw her .. she got back in her bed and cried herse;f to sleep

morning came and she got ready and left adan was waiting for her

he tried to hug her but she flinched

adan: you ok? did i do something?

maricela: no its ok dont worry

they hugged she calmed down ..

they went to school but she kept to herself

adan: you aint hot?

maricela: no not really

she side smiled at him her phone started to go off it was her mom blowing her up

vero- fend for yourself tonight me and your dad will be out we'll be back around midnight i want everything clean

maricela- ok

the call cut

adan: everything good?

maricela: i guess theyll be gone tonight

adan: is that good?

she nodded

adan: why you so quiet? you ok?

maricela: yea im just tired

but she stayed quiet and to herself and it bothered him

juan: she chill?

adan: yea shes cool and i loked her alot but shes been hella quiet today shes never like this

juan: did you ask her about her parents?

adan: i did she said there strict

juan: naw there abusive ive heard my talking about them ask her maybe something happened?

adan: yea i will

school ended and they walked home

adan: babe your sweating come on take off this sweater shit

she shook her head

maricela: i cant ok

he stopped her

adan: you know your safe with me mari you can tell me anything i got you

maricela: you wouldnt understand ok

adan: then help me understan babygirl i wanna see you smile again laugh what happened?

she put down her backpack and took off her sweater she had bruises on her arms

adan: you where hiding this?

maricela: theres more.. come on

she took him back to her houe nobody had ever visited before...

maricela: i shouldnt have you here .. but if you wanna know i have to show you everyhting

adan: what are all the holes in the wall from?

maricela: from when my dad gets mad and misses me

he froze .. she pulled him into her room he sat down on her bed she took a deep breath and lefted her shirt .. she had bruises all over her stomach

maricela: when my mom gets angry or if i mess up somehow she takes it out on me .. last night it was cuz she found some empty pill boxes somwhere and she dragged me out of my bed it was like 3 am

he had no words it hurt him but it made him angry .. he got up

maricela: i know ok its

he kissed her and hugged her .. she broke down she had never told anyone ..

adan: dont cry its ok itll be ok

he hugged her tight

she shook her head

maricela: i been telling myself that for years.. itll never be ok adan
