LISA

After a sweet 'mom and daughter interaction', we head to the round table with a few special guests that what my mother said following after us. When we are about to sit, I see my dad waving his hand towards a man wearing a black suit, at the corner. I follow his gaze, and I am so shocked to get a sight of my enemy, Kai.

"Hey, Kai. Where's your dad?" Dad asks as he gives a pat on his shoulder slightly.

He beams and replies, "Oh, there he is," He points to his dad coming towards us.

When my dad greets his father, he looks around, and I know that he beams as he sees Jennie standing beside me. He waves his hand towards her to catch her attention, smiling from ear to ear. "Hi, Jennie. I didn't know you are here, too."

"Of course, I'm sure you didn't know about it because it's none of your business." I give him a sweet reply before Jennie could answer. I smirk at the back of my mind, seeing his face go pale.

"Lisa!" Dad says.

"Everyone, please have a seat." My mom exclaims happily as she cuts him off. As we sit down on our respectful places, my dad smiles before uttering like a professional businessman, "I am so glad to have all of your presence here. You guys are so special to our company. We won't make a great deal and earn a lot of investors if it's not about you guys, so tonight, let's cheer, okay?" He raises his glass as everyone follows and takes a sip of the expensive champagne.

"Marco, this is Jennie. Our daughter's PA." My mom beams as she introduces Jennie to my dad. "She is a good girl," She adds, feeling so proud of getting Jennie as my PA. Well, I think, so.

"Yeah, she is." Kai joins.

I mean who asked him? He is so fucking annoying. I don't even know why these days I always meet these kinds of guys. At work, I have to confront that fucking Habin, and now while I think I can be free from that kind of shit, I have to face that shit again.

My mom laughs slightly as she asks, "Oh, have you guys ever met before?" "Yeah, actually, we've bumped into each other since the first day I went to the company," Kai says, daydreaming at his thought.

"Oh, that's the girl you told me about all the time?" Mr. Kim, Kai's dad, beams to his son.

"Y-yeah," He stutters as he looks away shyly.

This man is something. Why he should be shy, though? It's not that Jennie is his girlfriend or something. I glare at her as I stop eating.

I feel a soft hand on mine, and I turn my gaze to see Jennie looking at me with a worried expression as she asks, "Is something wrong?"

"Nothing," I huff and gulp my champagne, making my mom scowl at me.

One hour later, the sky goes black, the colorful lights around the mansion are lit up. The beautiful sight of the diversity of lights spread the whole place, and finally, it is time for the dance.

Chaeng asks Jisoo to dance with her which the latter accepts with a wide smile on her face.

"Lisa, why don't you ask Jennie for the dance, too?" My mom suggests as my cheeks burn when Jennie looks at her in surprise. When I am about to ask her that if she could dance with me or not, that fucking shit guy cuts me off, "It's okay if Lisa doesn't want to, I will dance with Jennie."

My ears produce some smoke as my eyes burn with fire. How could he ask like that? I mean I didn't even have a chance to talk to Jennie, yet that thick face guy speaks like he owns the world.

I grab Jennie's hand in front of everyone as she jumps in surprise and looks at me with wide cat-like eyes. I am enjoying her reaction as I ask, "Would you like to dance with me, Ms. Kim?"

She hesitates before nodding shyly towards me. I help her to get up and glance back at that Kai, smirking at his ugly face.

When we arrive, Perfect by Ed Sheeran is played. I grin as I grab both her hands and put them on my shoulders while my hands are on her waist. It feels so good. I feel so damn good to be this near to her. Her body fits me so perfect like the title of the song. We sway along with the song in rhythm until my brows curve up in anger as I see Kai with another woman dancing beside Jennie and me.

Well, this guy wouldn't leave me alone, so I have to show him something that he couldn't get Jennie, anyway. I won't allow it to happen.

When he dances closer, I grab Jennie's waist tighter as I change our place, so I am near Kai right now while Jennie is in the opposite one. I smirk at the back of my mind. This guy needs to learn something.

"Why did you do that?" Jennie asks. "Do what?" I answer with no expression, acting innocently.

"I know you know it, Lisa. Why did you need to switch our positions?" She whispers as she sees Kai at my back.

I follow her gaze and look back at her, "Well, I don't want anybody to look at you beside me." I state the truth, making her stop moving.

"What were you talking about? It's nonsense. I am not even yours." She says.

"So, why don't you let me have you then?" I smirk.

She shakes her head and utters softly, "No, I can't." I raise her chin and look at her, "Why? Am I not enough? Is it because of Kai or Hab-"

"NO!" She cuts me off, turning her gaze away. She takes her hands off of my shoulders and bolts to the gate. I follow her until we reach the front of the mansion with no one else besides us.

She turns her back at me as darkness hides her sight from me. "Please go away, Lisa."

"Why? I-I love you." I choke back tears as I take a step forward, seeing her back tense when I say that.

Finally, she looks at me as she states, "Lisa, we can't. This won't work between us." She gestures from me to her.

"Don't you love me?" I ask, shutting my eyes closed a little, holding her shoulders in place.

"I-I can't." She stutters. I release her shoulders as I become angry, not understanding what she wants to talk about, "That's not an answer!" I shout.

Tears fall down her cheeks as she turns away and wipes her tears, "Look, I am just an orphan, working as your PA. I have nothing compared to you while you have every fucking thing. Your mother trusts me very much. She asked me to work for you because she wants me to help you with your attitude. She doesn't want you to hang out every night. She wants you to be more responsible, and just like that. That's what I need to do. That's my job-"

I open my mouth to speak, but she raises her hand to stop me and continues, "Lisa, you are like a diamond while I am just a fucking stone that my parents abandoned since I was young. That's all. That's my life." She says as more tears continue to fall.

I hug her as she tries to push me away, but I tighten my arms around her, "Shh, listen to me, okay?" She is about to speak, but I put my thumb on her lips, "You were speaking a lot, and this time, I will be the one who speaks."

As I feel that she won't protest anymore, I start to speak, "Jennie, I am not a diamond. You see I have everything, but I have nothing without you. I used to hang out at night, but it's just before. Before you came into my life, I hadn't had any goal, plan for my life because I think I have everything as you said, but when you entered my life, I realize that I have you, so I need to work hard for you. For us." I look at her in the eyes.

"I-"

"Please give us a chance, okay?" I murmur as I take her head between both my hands, kissing her forehead as she closes her eyes. I hug her tightly.

My smile widens as I feel her hands on my back, too. I pull away as I kneel in front of her, "Jennie Kim, would you like to be my girlfriend?"

I see her gasp in shock as her hand flies to her mouth. "Lisa, what are you doing?"

"You heard it. I want you to be my girlfriend, Jennie Kim."

"Please," I pout.
