Application for Co-Judges!

Something I'm very proud of is this community. I find it very difficult to translate that to my friends who haven't experienced it, but, really, they're missing out.

I've been a little bit swamped recently, and I've extended the cry for help. The community certainly didn't disappoint. They've gone and written the wonderfully strange introduction for this bulletin:

The Judge sits with a weighting scale, eyes close. He hums in silent indulgence. Before him lies several hundreds of what seems to be books, entries, verses, short stories. The works of authors both great and small, both old and new, gathered before him for the final verdict.

Artists of literature emerge across the expanse, half a plentitude, or a mere five at most. All take their stand before the judge. Each book he's read, each paragraph he's marked.

He envisages the work to be sentenced before morn, yet, as the sun appears over the uncaring horizon, he comes to perceive his hopes impossible. Time has marred his skilful hands, and now the time has arrived for him to seek his aides.

Scouring the lands he finds the best, and together they are gathered to conquer his test. Welcome, mortals, to the ever changing land of order, balance, and chaos. We invite you look closer into our world and see if you have the aptitude, skill, and mentality needed to become a Judge.

What? Are you reading what you think you're reading?

Well, you bet you are! Given the increase in our turnout over the last couple of months, I've lacked the foresight to prepare for the sheer work involved. It's been suggested that I take on some apprentices, and I'm truly rather fond of the idea.

It's not a very simple process, however. I'm a very particular person and I will safeguard this community with all my ability. I've worked very hard on it you've worked very hard on it. So, some of you may know me as Ma'at the Judge from our Discord Shenanigans, and today we take that to heart.

I've designed you a trial, a test of will and patience, to complete to seek entry into the sanctuary of Judgement.

It's a fairly lenient test as well, so I encourage everybody to take a look at it regardless. You might learn something about the nature of what goes on behind the scenes in these contests, if nothing else.

To apply for the position of Judge, please follow the Google Docs link commented inline on this paragraph. (If it's not here, then I'm probably busy in the garden so I ask one of you lovely fellows who have the link to do me the favour, thanks!) I'll also ask @Contests to make an announcement with the link, and I'll be announcing it on my account TimberWoolf.

The window of opportunity may not be open for very long, or may be open for years depending on how things in the near future go. We are currently preparing for the October Community Project, but I suspect I'll start a Skeleton Crew to help me manage that and, if need be, the applicants for this.

All in all, things are looking exceptionally bright for the future of our little community. We've some ideas in the pipeline that will provide everybody involved some much needed quality-of-life improvements.

If you want to be part of all the off-wattpad fun, we have a Discord server (link on this paragraph?). It's really entertaining, and we'll be introducing some new important things on there, including a dedicated discussion and development corner sometime in the near future.

I suppose that's all for now, my lovely creatures.

I hope to hear your feedback on the application sometime soon! I look forward to building a team with you.

(I have added the link to the APPLICATION FORM to this chapter but will also put it on the announcements on the profile in case it doesn't show up here. Good luck!)
