Chapter 17: Hideout

I jolted up from my bed. I looked around.

Wait. Was all of that just a dream?

I tried to recall everytging before those events.... Right, it is a dream because I drifted off to sleep as soon as I lied down on my bed lastnight.

Also, Why the fuck would I even dream about that?

I sighed and stood up. I did all of the things I should do.

I WALKED by the tent of HyunJoon. I peeked on it. He's not here anymore. I'm assuming that he is walking around and observing every soldier.

I continue to walk.

I stopped on my tracks as soon as I saw a soldier running towards my direction.

"General Kang! General Hwang and Commander Zhang wants to see you!" The soldier said as he panted.

"Sure, You are dismissed now." I said and walked pass by the soldier.

I head over the tent where we discuss our plans.

I entered the tent. To see HyunJoon and Commander Zhang.

"You called for me?" I asked.

"Yes, Kang. Commander Zhang has found the enemies' hideout." HyunJoon said.

I looked at Commander Zhang. He's silent as usual.

"Really? That's great then." I said as I took a sit.

"It was really easy to find it. I found it in the middle of the woods." Commander Zhang said.

I looked at him, "How?"

"I managed to find their path lastnight." He answered.

I narrowed my eyes on him then nodded.

"That's awesome." I said in an awe.

"Right... I need to go now. Later, I'll show you it, General Kang." He said and stood up from his chair.

I just nodded and watched him slowly leave the room.

"No wonder he is my father's favorite!" HyunJoon said.

I slowly faced him, "Yeah... No wonder."

Something is odd with Commander Zhang. He is not acting like what I heard from the soldiers around here. Something is wrong.

I stood up.

"Are you going to leave now too?" HyunJoon asked.

"Yes, I need to prepare for later. Commander Zhang would show me where the hideout right?" I said.

He thought for a bit then replied, "Well... You're right."

I left the tent.

I looked around and noticed the time. The sun is already setting.

Damn. I slept for a long time huh?

I head over the stable to take my horse. I quickly mounted it.

"General Kang!" I faced the direction where that voice came from. It was Commander Zhang. There are five soldiers with him.

He mounted his horse and approached me.

"Are you prepared already? I'll show you their hideout." He said.

I nodded, "I'm always prepared."

"Let's go." He said and led the way. I just followed him.

The guards who are assigned in the door of our camp, opened the door. We passed by them.
