Elena and Damon were asking question to Rose and Jeremy answered them in her place. I suddenly felt like someone was pulling me. It was just a feeling until I suddenly felt a strong pull and I fell off the bed.
"Hey, you okay, Cassandra?" Elena asked
"Yeah, I'm fine. I don't know what happened" I say and I try to stand up again
"Someone's pulling her. I can see energy move around her." I heard someone say, but I didn't recognize the voice. It sounded female so I looked at Elena
"What did you say?"
"I asked is you were okay."
"Yeah, but after that? Something about energy move around me." Jeremy looked weird at me
"Rose said that."
"Rose?"
"Yes. I said that. Can you hear me?" I turned around towards the voice and I saw a woman not much older than the real me stand behind me, looking intensely at me. She had short dark brown hair.
"You're Rose?"
"Yes."
"Cass, can you see her?" Damon asked, but I ignored him
"That's impossible, I couldn't see or hear you before."
"Maybe it has something to do with whatever is pulling you?"
"Yeah, maybe." I felt the pulling again. It was trying to pull me outside.
"I think I'm going to follow whatever is pulling me. Call me when you need me again." They nodded and I turned to Rose
"Nice meeting you, I guess."
"Yeah, likewise." I took my jacket I had thrown on the bed and I left the room. This is just plain weird. Do I really have to be able to see ghosts as well? I sighed and I followed the pulling. It was going towards the highway, so before following it I went to rent a car. I went after the pulling again and it seemed to take me back to Mystic Falls. My intuition seemed to be right as it lead me to Klaus' house. Once I parked the car, the pulling fades away. I start my walk inside when I hear a crash inside. I run vampirespeed inside and I see Rebekah hold someone by their neck towards the wall.
"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill you right now."
"Because I'm dying." I know that voice!
"Mother!" I exclaim and I run towards Rebekah and I pull mother out of her hands
"What do you think you're doing?!" Rebekah yells at me
"I-I don't know. I think it's an instinct." I shake the feeling off and I turn to mother
"You were the one pulling me here, weren't you?"
"Yes."
"Pulling you?"
"Yes, I had this feeling like someone was pulling me. I followed it and I ended up here." Rebekah looked at me like I was crazy and I turn back to mother
"How do you mean you're dying? I thought Ayana had preserved your body with a spell."
"She did. I'm drawing my power from the Bennett witch line. When Abby died, the connection was severed. So my body is weakened."
"Well, if you've come to spend your last moments with your loving daughters, prepare to be disappointed. You should have spent less time plotting my death." Rebekah snapped, but I could see the hurt in her eyes. I looked back at mother and I saw she staring at the ground
"Is that what you think I've been doing on the other side? I've been looking over you for a thousand years of joy and heartbreak. Your fights with Klaus. The nights you cried yourself to sleep calling out my name. Not a day has gone by that I wasn't right there with you. And the same goes for you Cassandra. I saw you fighting to find your place in this world, making friends but having to leave them because otherwise they would notice."
"And yet you still tried to kill me." Rebekah was crying
"Because it shouldn't have been a thousand years, Rebekah. No one should live that long."
"But I haven't lived at all."
"I'm sorry Rebekah. I'm so, so sorry." She takes Rebekah's hand and turns to me
"Please, Rebekah. I beg you to forgive your sister. I made her run and hide from you. You should hold that against me and not her." Mother takes my hand and gestures me to hold Rebekah's free hand, but Rebekah glares at it like it was poisonous
"Please, Rebekah. Let me have this before I die." Rebekah takes my hand and we look at each other. She smiles sadly at me and I return it. We both turn back to mother and suddenly she started shaking and she let out her last breath before falling down. Rebekah and I sat down next to her when I heard footsteps come inside the room
"What's going on?" Nick's voice asks
"She's dead." Rebekah mumbles, trying to sound like she doesn't care. I see her look up at Nick. I cough and I stand back up.
"Don't think I've actually forgiven you just because mother asked me to." I look up at Rebekah
"I understand. I just hoped you did. Anyway I think I should go back."
"Back to where?" Nick asks me
"Actually it's none of your business."
"What?"
"You made me tell the people around here, so now I have to gain their trust back." I wanted to glare at Rebekah for it, but I decided against it.
"Anyway. I'm leaving. I have a long trip ahead of me."
"Oh, right. Kol told me about you in Denver."
"He did?"
"Yes. He wasn't happy you stood on their side instead of his."
"Like I already said. I need to gain their trust. How could that work better than when I stand up against my own family, the whole reason I need to gain their thrust in the first place."
"You're smarter than you look, sister."
"I don't take that as a compliment. And to be honest. I feel bad for just standing in his way, I think it would have made a better impression if I would have hit him as well." Somehow a smile crawled on Nick's face
"You truly are family."
"And again, I don't take that as a compliment either." I don't wait for his reply as I start walking outside. I turn around right before I walk passed the door.
"Summer is almost over. I don't think I'm staying much longer. Unless you're going to come visit me, I don't think you'll see me again for a long time."
"Goodbye, sister. Farewell. We'll cross pads again."
"Goodbye, Nick." I turned to Rebekah
"Goodbye to you too, Rebekah." Rebekah ignores me and looks down at mother
"Give her a nice funeral, okay?"
"We will." I heard Rebekah answer right before I left the room. I went to my car and I drove all the way back to Denver. Why did it had to be so far?
