"We're here." Damon says, stopping the car.
"Jeremy should be at his baseball training right now."
"Jeremy's your little brother, right?"
"Yes."
"Can I ask why he's here?"
"Because I wanted him to be safely away from your family."
"Wait, who told you that, Elena?" Elena lost the color in her face
"Uhm-" They haven't told her yet. She already knew since the party my mother organised.
"I overheard you talk about it." Damon didn't look like he believed it
"You're a terrible liar, Elena. Who told you?"
"I did."
"You? Why would you tell her?"
"So she didn't have to hear it from anyone else."
"When did you tell her?"
"Why do you care? I thought we came here to get Elena's brother?"
"She's right, Damon. Let's just get Jer." Damon sighs and takes the lead. Elena mouths 'Thank you' to me and I nod. We follow Damon and suddenly I hear Elena yell
"There he is!" We look a little at a younger guy, missing the ball.
" Next time we compel him, remind me to make him better at baseball."
"You compelled him to come here?" They ignored me and Elena glares at Damon before looking at her brother with a big smile
"Hey, Jer!" Jeremy turns around
"Elena?" Jeremy smiles until his gaze falls on us
"What's wrong?" He says it in a way that gestures he knows Mystic Falls very well. Damon and Elena are telling the whole story to Jeremy
"So you traveled across the country to get me to talk to a dead vampire?"
"Dead vampire's redundant, but yes."
"Well, I can't. I can talk to Anna and Vickie because I knew them. I've never even met Rose." Does this mean Jeremy can talk to the dead?
"What good is you dying and coming back to life if you can't talk to a ghost when I need you to?"
" Rose spent a long time running from Klaus as well. She and Damon were close, so maybe we can use you as a connection."
"Fine, fine. Can we do this later? My friend just got here. And yes, Damon, I actually have some. I'll call you when I'm done." Jeremy walks past us and kisses Elena on her cheek. I turn around and see Kol walking towards us
"Damon, it's Kol." Kol hits Damon hard on the head with a bad and Damon falls down on the ground. Kol throws the broken wooden bat on the floor
"What the hell are you doing?!"
"Jeremy, get back, he's an original!"
"What?!"
"No hard feelings, mate, but we're not buds." Kol picks up an aluminium bat
"You know, I'll never get used to aluminum but, hey, at least it won't break." Kol starts beating the unconscious Damon. I run between them and I stop Kol from hitting Damon any further
"What?! She's a vampire too? Who turned her?!"
"You're supposed to be on my side, sister." Kol says, half smirking
"I'm not supposed to do anything. I'm sticking up for my friends."
"Wait she's an Original too?!" Jeremy was getting too much thrown at hi head right now. I glare at Kol and he smiles
"Oh, sister, don't forget who's holding the bat right now." Right when Kol tries to hit me, Damon sticks the broken wooden bat in Kol's heart.
"Did you kill him?" Jeremy asks
"No, but it'll give us a head start. Come on." Damon takes Elena, who's still shocked. I walk over to Jeremy, but he pulls away
"Why did you help us?"
"It's not the time to question her, Jeremy. Come on!" Damon says before I can and Jeremy sighs and starts walking after Damon and his sister. I sigh and turn to Kol.
"Sorry, Kol, through the years, I've learned to care more about friends than family. I know it's against our agreement when we were little." I ran after the others to Damon's car. The way to the motel was awkwardly silent and Jeremy, kept his eyes on me. He doesn't trust me, I don't blame him. Damon parks his car and I see Elena struggle with her heavy bags
"Here, let me help you, Elena."
"Thanks, Cass." I smile
"For the record, she's the one who wanted to stop in a motel, not me." Damon says to Jeremy and Elena glares at him
"So where are we?" Jeremy asks, taking the lead to our room
"Corner of somewhere and nowhere where Kol can't find us."
"I can't believe Kol was a vampire."
"Well, didn't you find it weird that you made a friend so fast? Have you met you?"
"Not helping." Elena says, glaring at Damon
"If we want to escape from Kol, why are we taking his sister with us?" Jeremy asks, glancing over at me. I sigh and look down, another reason for me not wanting to be here at all.
"Don't worry about her, Jer. She's not like that. She's our friend."
"Yeah, right." Jeremy and Damon say at the same time
"See. Damon agrees with me."
"Don't listen to Damon about her. His ego just hurts because he didn't see it coming."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, Damon and Stefan knew her when they were human, and she had been staying in Mystic Falls for the summer before they found out."
"So she's good at keeping secrets, maybe she's calling Kol right now."
"I'm not calling him. Yes, I'm right here, I can hear you talk about me. Thanks, Elena, but I don't really care what he thinks of me. He's safe, I don't care about the rest." Elena looked apologetic and Jeremy kinda glared at me. Jeremy opened the door of the room and we all went inside. I laid the bags on the bed and I sat down on it
"This should work. Right, Jer?" Elena said referring to the room
"Yeah. It doesn't really matter."
" All right, Whoopi. What do you need, candles, incense, pottery wheel?" Damon says, closing the curtains
"That's not how it works."
"I know, I know. They push from the other side and you pull from this one."
"All right, you, uh, you got a picture of her?" Jeremy sits down at the table
" Picture? From what, our trip to Disneyland? Come on, Rose, you're not going to actually make us wait, are you? I know you're obsessed with me." Damon says the last part into nothing and Elena sighs before sitting at the other end of the table
"All right, uh, tell me something about her."
"Um, well, she did this little thing with her tongue." Damon sits down at the bed next to me
"Something that matters, Damon."
"She spent her last day in paradise. Soaking in the sun and reminiscing about what it means to be human. And when death came, she didn't fear it." When Damon said it I felt a weird sensation in the room
"I was with her on her last day, and she definitely wasn't in paradise." Elena says, contradicting Damon
"It was in the dream he gave her. She's here." Jeremy looks at the other bed, but I can't see anyone sitting there. Guess he really can speak to ghosts.
