Chapter 48: The Effects of a Cause

     They walked hand in hand across the beach.
"Why did you bring me here?" Artemis asked.
     Percy looked over to her.
"We need to attack them," Percy said.
     Artemis put her hands on his cheeks.
"I know you want revenge. I do too. But they are to strong!" Artemis said.
     Percy tapped the ground.
"I know someone who could help," Percy said.
"And who might that be?"
     The water to the side of them rose. Poseidon rose out in a dramatic stance.
"WHO DARE- Percy? What are you doing here?"
"Dad. We need your help," Percy replies.
     Poseidon looks at Percy, then to Artemis.
"Where are the rest?"
     A tear falls down Percy's check. There is no answer.
"That's very sad to here son. I'm sorry for asking."
"It's ok. But we need your help."
"With?"
"I need you to get the rest of the gods." Percy pauses for a second. "We need to attack back."
     Poseidon snaps his head towards Percy.
"The chances are very l-"
"I don't care!" Percy interrupts. "I'd rather die knowing I tried rather than sit in this world knowing I will never get my revenge."
     Poseidon looks up towards the sky.
"Very well then."
     Poseidon shoots his trident towards the sky. And within second, all the gods, not counting Zeus, where there.
"Why are we here?" Hades asked Poseidon.
"Hear Percy our," Poseidon insisted.
     All the gods turned towards Percy. And Percy started to explain.

     The rest of the gods and Percy walked into Poseidon's palace. The gods who did t have weapons moved towards the forges. And the ones who did moved to the main room.
     Percy sat down with Artemis's head resting on his shoulder.
"What happens if this doesn't work?" Artemis asked him.
     Percy kissed her forehead.
"Then I'll meet you in Elysium. We will start a life there."
     Artemis still looked worried.
"Which won't happen. I know that whatever happens, I'll be by your side." Percy said.
     Percy got up.
"It's late. We need to get some sleep now," Percy said.
      Artemis shakes her head.
"I'm to lazy to," she replied.
     Percy picked her up and put her over his shoulder. Percy glided up the stairs. Not forgetting they were underwater.
     Percy laid her on the bed she would be sleeping in and kissed her.
     Percy walked out of the bedroom and glided towards the gym. He wasn't bothered to go to sleep now.
     He punched the punching bag.
     A flash of the faces from the hunters appeared in front of him.
     He punched again.
     The image of Estelle being captured flashed in-front of him.
     This time he punched harder.
     It's showed his mom and his step dad in front of him.
     Percy fell down.
     He was about to start crying.
     Percy pulled out his dagger and continuously jabbed his arm.
"There. That's something to go and cry about Percy," He muttered to himself.
     He was resisting the power of water to heal him.
     His soft side tried to take over.
     A tear tried to make its way down he check. Which was somehow visible in the ocean.
     Percy wipes the tear away and punched himself as hard as a could.
"I told you To go cry about something else!"
     Percy picked up his dagger again and jabbed his body continuously.
"Percy!"
     Percy dropped the dagger and started crying.
"I SAID STO-"
     He made another attempt to munch misled but Artemis stopped it.
     Artemis hugged him.
     For a moment or two Percy was shocked.
     He was shocked at what he had done. At how he could have let himself do this.
     No matter what happened, Artemis would always be there.
     He hugged her back.
     He released the pressure and the water started healing him.
"Why Percy?" Artemis said, with a tear running down her check.
     Percy wipes the tear with his thumb.
"I'm Sorry. It was the flashbacks," Percy replies.
"Don't Ever do that again, Please!"
"I promise," Percy said. "Why did you come down?"
"Nightmare," Artemis said.
     Percy picked, her up bridal style. He glided up the stairs. He lay her down in the bed and covered her.
"Goodnight. I love you." Percy said.
     Percy turned to walked but Artemis spoke.
"Don't go please. I'll get another nightmare," she said.
     Percy walked towards her and sat on top of the bed. 
"What is my get another nightmare?" Artemis asked.
"Then I'll fight them off with my bare hands."
