Chapter 11

Later that evening Max and Kyle finally came back home work after I spent the whole evening with Bella. We had a shitty start to the day because we ran into Marshall but I had fun this evening with Bella. We both went to the living room, I see Max sitting on the couch watching football and Kyle preparing dinner for all of us "Hi uncle" Bella runs over to Max, I giggle "Hey princess, how are you doing?" Max sits Bella down on his lap and I sit next to them "Good" She nods "Did mommy buy you anything?" Max asks her "No" Bella frowns "What? Why?" He glares at me "I told you to buy something for her" He nearly raises his voice at me "We need to talk, something bad happened" I tell him seriously "How bad?" He looks curious "Very bad" 

Max looks at Bella and gives her a soft smile "Sweetie, why don't you go help Kyle cook dinner while I talk to mommy" He smiles at her "Okay" Bella gives him a hug then runs off to Kyle. Max turns around to face me and gives me a concerned look "What happened?" Max asks me "We ran into Marshall on our way to the toy shop" I tell him "So? I thought you wanted to see him" He furrows his brows at me "That's what I was hoping for but he has completely changed, he is not the Marshall I use to know" I sigh

"How so?" Max asks "Marshall is very angry at me for taking his daughter away" I tell him "Why is he angry at you? He clearly said that he doesn't want to have a child, you did what any mother would do" Max places his hand on my shoulder "It's so much worse" I feel a lump forming in my throat, Max just stares at me as he has nothing to say "Hailie called me up a few hours ago to inform me that Marshall wants to take Bella away from me" I look down "For fuck sake" He leans back on the couch and sighs "What are you gonna do?" I sigh as I have no idea how to respond to his question "I don't know" 

There's a moment of silence then I hear my phone ring on the coffee table, I pick it up and check the caller ID, my face lit up when I see it's Alaina who's calling me "I gotta take this" I tell him "Who is it?" He asks me "Alaina" I say sounding excited and Max chuckles. I walk into the bedroom, shut the door behind me and sit on my bed, I answer her call "Hey girl" I smile "So you are back in Detroit and don't even bother calling me, huh?" She sounds pissed "I'm sorry boo I had a pretty horrible day" I sigh "I know honey, Hailie told me everything" She sighs 

"I'm really sad about it" I frown "My uncle is being unfair" She groans "Try telling him that" I chuckle nervously "I'm seriously gonna knock some sense into his head" Alaina laughs and I laugh "How is Bella?" Alaina asks me "She is doing great" We spoke for an hour about everything. 

Apparently she broke up with her boyfriend a year ago, she sounded so heartbroken over the phone but I comforted her. I talked about my life in Texas and she is so happy that I made the decision to remain in Detroit "Bri" Alaina says "Yes" I say "Would you like to join me, Hailie and Whitney for dinner tomorrow night?" She asks me "Of course" I smile "Great, I'll text you the address to my house" She giggles "I know where you live, Alaina" I chuckle "Uhhh....Bri I moved almost two years ago" She sounds serious "Oh gee I'm sorry" I nervously chuckle "That's okay Bri" Max knocks on my door "Come in, hold on Alaina" I tell her "Okay" Max walks in my bedroom "Dinner is ready" He informs me "Okay" Max leaves my bedroom and I return back to talking with Alaina "Alaina, I have to go dinner is ready" I inform her 

"Okay Bri it was great talking to you" She says happily "Likewise" I smile "See ya tomorrow at 8" She giggles "See ya" Before I hang up the phone Alaina speaks up "Oh and Bri?" She asks "Yes Alaina" I nod "Tell Bella I say "Hi" and give her a big kiss for me" She giggles "I will" I smile "Bye" She says "Bye" I hang up the phone and leave the bedroom. 

I walk into the kitchen and Bella's face lights up as soon as she sees me "Mommy" She races up to me and I pick her up "What took you so long?" She pouts "I was talking to an amazing friend" I giggle "Hailie?" She asks smiling "No, Alaina" I correct her "Yay" She cheers "Alaina said to give you a big kiss" I give Bella a big kiss on both of her cheeks and she giggles which makes me giggle.

I place her back down on her feet and she runs to sit down around the dining table with Kyle and Max. I sit down next to Max and we all began to eat dinner. Once we were done we all rushed off to bed. As soon as Bella's head hit the pillow she falls asleep, she must be really tired, so am I. I fall asleep the moment my head hit the pillow.
