Class 1988: The Reunion [Completed]

Class 1: The Invitation

"Have you received an email about our upcoming batch reunion?" Lea.

"I haven't checked my email yet. Hold on, I'm going to check it out now" Vice. His screen then went off  indicating that he leaves the app but still connected.

"Is that the invitation for the 1988 graduates?" Dawn.

"Ayy tehhh, meron nga, pero bakit biglaan? Sino nag-organize?" Vice butted in when his screen went on again.

"I don't have any idea. Someone just sent this to me, that's why I called, to check if this is legit and I'm not the only one who receives the invitation." Lea.

"Bakla ka ng taon. Eh, bakit kami agad tinawagan mo? Pwede namang yung asawa mo mun, 'di ba?" Vice.

"He's not yet home. He's still at work and might be busy. " Lea.

"Wait, I'm going to ask Chard kung nakatanggap din sya." Dawn.

"Thanks, D" Lea. Then Dawn's screen went off.

"Bakit ayaw sumagot nila Agot? Kanina ko pa sila niriring." Lea.

"Istorbo ka teh, anniversary nila ni Albert. Mamaya naglalabing labing yun eh" Vice.

Dawn's screen went on again. This time, she's not alone in the frame. She's with Richard now, her husband.

"Hi Lei. Hi Vice" he greeted while waving his hand. The two greeted him back.

"Have you received an email, too?" Vice.

"Yes, actually kahapon pa. Nakalimutan ko lang tanungin si Dawn kung nakatanggap din sya. Tinawagan ko na din kahapon si Albert, Aga, Gabby at Ian to confirm if totoo ba yung invitation. Then they told me they got one, too." Chard.

"Aga? Why he didn't mention it to me kung kahapon nyo pa pala natanggap yung sa inyo?" Lea. Her brows furrowed.

"Baka naman nakalimutan lang." Vice.

Then a notification appeared above the screen of her phone. Someone joined the group video call.

"What is the meaning of this? Anong meron?" Sharon blurted out right after her face is added on the screen.

"We're talking about the invitation for the batch reunion. Have you received one on your email?" Lea.

"Yes. So, totoo nga? May reunion talaga ang high school batch natin?" Sharon.

"I think so. 'Di naman siguro scammer yung nagsend sa'tin ng invitation, 'di ba?" Vice.

"Pero 'di ba dapat tayo mag-organize n'on? Tayo ang SSG that time, 'di ba?" Sharon.

"Ayy teh, kayo lang. 'Di ako part ng SSG before." Vice.

"Yun nga din ang alam ko, eh. Pero baka isa din sa officers ang nag-organize or baka one of the teachers." Dawn.

"Anong one of the teachers? Eh, baka nga patay na yung mga teachers natin dati, eh. Vaklang twouhh!" Vice exclaimed that earns a chuckle from everyone.

"Kahit kailan talaga yang bibig mo, Viceral." Lea.

"At kung isa man sa officers ang nag-organize, 'di ba dapat sabihin man lang sa'tin o kahit kay Lea na lang, tutal sya naman ang SSG President natin dati." Sharon.

"You have a point" Dawn.

"Oo nga tehh" Vice.

Nagkibit balikat na lamang si Lea dahil wala rin siyang ideya sa kung sino ang nag-organize ng reunion.

"Ano? Pupunta ba kayo?" Vice.

"Hindi ko pa alam. Wala namang date and venue yung invitation na sinend. I'll just wait for the following details para matanong ko si Aga kung pupunta kami" Lea.

"Ayy sige sige tehh. Oh, paano ba yan? Una na ako sa inyo, may date pa kami ng jowa ko" Vice.

"As if naman, Viceral" Sharon.

"Che! Sige na, bye guyss!" Vice. He then leave the video call.

"Ako din. Una na ako. May pupuntahan pa kami ni Gabby, eh. See you na lang girls" Sharon. Then she also leaves the video call, leaving Lea and only Dawn on the screen.

"What's bothering you, Lei?" Dawn. She's now alone on the frame.

"I don't know. It's just that, this sudden invitation feels not right" Lea.

"You're just over thinking. Malay mo naman 'di ba, one of our batch mate organizes this." Dawn.

"You think so? Para kasing may mali" Lea.

"Ano namang mali? Ano ka ba Lea? don't think too much. Besides, this is just an invitation for our Reunion." Dawn.

"Yeah, baka nga nago-over think lang ako masyado." Lea.

"O, sige na Lea. I'm also going. Don't think too much about it na. Bye!" Dawn. She leaves, that ended the video call.

After that conversation with Dawn, she has a sigh. Something still bothers her. She doesn't know why, but this invitation doesn't feel right for her. Initially, they still have contacts with their batch mates, and there is no talk of being reunited or having a batch reunion. If there's someone who's supposed to organize a reunion, it's supposed to be her. She's the president of the SSG, she's the one responsible for this kind of thing. She just shrugged off those thoughts. Maybe Dawn's right, she's thinking too much.

Weeks after they received an invitation through their emails. The actual invitation had come to their doorway. An unknown sender sends them a real invitation for their reunion.

Class 1988: The Reunion

Come and join us as we are Reunited after 31 years.

A night full of fun and excitement awaits the Class 1988.
