She was fussed over, of course, and while all the attention was nice at first, she soon tired of it and wanted some time to herself. That day passed and a new one came. The first one to rush through the castle doors that day was Andarin.

"Miry," He said taking her into his arms as soon as he saw her, "I heard what happened, are you alright?" He asked anxiously.

At first, Miryanna was confused, seeing as he knew exactly where she'd been and what she did, but then she remembered her oath and that he would have to act like they'd been separated too.

She smiled, hoping her act was good enough, "I'm just fine. They didn't do anything to me, I didn't get injured at all

"Oh good." he said in response, a relieved smile forming in his face.

She was again surprised at how good his acting skills were, but now was not the time to compliment hokm on such a thing.

It was then that Nynesi showed up. "Hey, Andarin!" She greeted him as soon as she saw them.

"How are you feeling today?" She asked Miryanna, putting a sisterly arm around her.

Miryanna smiled, "As I just told Andarin, I'm just fine."

Andrarin's brows furrowed, "Why did you even go into that dark alleyway in the first place? They're terrible places to hang out im, if you know what i mean."

why no, andarin, we don't know what you mean. do go on.

"I know now," Miryanna laughed softly, "But I went after you because I saw that you'd dropped your riding glove. I fear I lost it." She said disappointedly.

Andarin grinned, "You've just been kidnapped, and you worry about a glove?"

She glared back up at him and swatted him playfully. "I know that they were your favorite pair, I didn't want you to lose one." She defended.

"Oh, well I appreciate your care," he said to her, "But I would also appreciate it if you kept yourself out of sticky situations."

Nynesi and Miryanna both laughed. "Well I'd appreciate it too, but sometimes life happens." Was Miryanna's mirthful reply.

well shoot girl it sure does

Just then, The queen came to find Miryanna and Nynesi. "There you girls are. Were we going to finish that tapestry we're working on or not?" She asked. She saw Andarin standing there. "Oh, Andarin, I wasn't expecting you," She smiled.

"I hope it's not trouble that I decided to stop by,"

are you kidding?

The queen waved her hand in the air, "No, not at all. You're always welcome here, but I fear I'll have to take your playmates away for a little while."

He smiled, "that's just fine.' He turned back to Miryanna. "I'll see you tonight?"

you just saw each other but need to hang out tonight too? i had so little to do with these guys that i had to just keep throwing them together for some generic small talk. gosh

She nodded. "Tonight sounds good."

"Right." He turned to Nyesi, "farewell, princess." he bowed courteously.

She gave a little wave, "Bye Andarin. See you tonight."

And with that, he left.

When he was gone, the queen and her niece and daughter went to a great loom that currently held a large tapestry depicting some of the great legends and lore of the kingdom of Terinnia. The part they were working on then was a great battle battles are always great, aren't they? could we a mediocre battle for once? or just plain battle? between the Terinnians and the Fasiks. For they were once sworn enemies, brought to peace only by two brothers who had a Terinnian mother and a Fasik father. While one looked and took after the Terinnian mother, the other looked exactly like one of the Fasiks. They both hated to see they're uncles and cousins on both sides fight each other, all because they couldn't agree on certain things, and didn't have some of the same customs and beliefs.

okay with some minor tweaking, this could be a lot cooler, but of course i just had to make it smack of stereotypical fantasy stories

Once, they stepped out on a battlefield right before one was supposed to start, and tried to reason with the opposing sides. They told them that just because they were different from each other and had different beliefs and customs, didn't mean they had to fight constantly. They could agree to disagree and still respect one another for the good things about each other. They failed. They were tossed off the battlefield and the fight continued I love how they were just tossed off and not trampled down or killed. Six times they tried to stop a battle and they were ignored. Six times they failed. They tried a different approach. They preached and talked to the people in the city and town squares in Terinnia, and the individual camps and great cities in the land of Fasik.

Finally, they succeeded. They were both past their prime when it happened, but it did. They managed to convince the peoples that just because they didn't agree, they didn't have to fight and kill each other. From that day on, the two countries stopped fighting. They were never officially friends, but they no longer fought. Lord Dominic's recent trip to Fasik was to assure the keeping of this peace.

Miryanna thought about all of this while sewing in the designs on the armor of the soldiers. It was one of her favorite legends, and it always reminded her that just because someone didn't believe or do the same things she did, she didn't have to try and change that person, unless of course she knew that what they were doing was wrong. It also taught her not to give up just because her first attempt failed

Now this is more like what i like to write. stories with a moral, and the characters thinking about it and what they take away from the story. Their own personal beliefs and convictions. A nice break from the 'ol "i believe what i believe because i am *insert fantasy race* and there's nothing you can do about it". People are individuals, give them individual beliefs. Unless your fantasy race has a dictator, people should think freely about stuff.
