Ben grabbed Mal’s hand and led her to the locked door. He charged to it, breaking the door to open. They ran through the galley that led to two sets of stairs, one leading up and the other leading down. Mal was about to head up, but Ben pulled her down.

Kit, who quickly recovered from his injuries, somehow found his gun in the water and he ran to the smashed down. He made it to the stairs. Assuming they went up (why would they go down a flooding ship?), he ascended the stairs.

Mal and Ben waited for the footsteps to disappear when they heard crying. They went down the last steps and looked along the deck. They saw a little boy, no older than 4, standing against the wall wailing as the water swirled around his legs.

“We can’t leave him,” Mal said. Ben nodded. They ran to him, the man scooping him up in his arms. They made their way to the stairs, but a flow of water poured down the stairs. It grew too powerful for them the go up against.

They run back the other way of the corridor. At the end of the hallway, heavy double doors were on the verge of bursting. Ben saw water spraying through the doors. They creaked and sprayed water, and soon began to crack under pressure.

“Back!” Ben yelled. “Go back!”

When they turned around, a man appeared from the upcoming crossway. He saw Ben carry the boy, quickly taking him away. He spoke in a different language and ran towards the double doors.

“No!” Mal and Ben said, trying to get him to listen. “The other way! Come back!”

It was too late. The doors burst open, a wall of water flooding the corridor. The father and son disappeared, and the couple runs away. The water soon caught up to them, carrying them through the hallway.

“Ben!” Mal cried as she gasped for air. She waved her arms around, trying to feel anything else but the walls and cold water.

The water continued to rush to them through the hall, but they were stopped by a steel gate that blocked them from the stairs.  Mal and Ben slammed against the gate, but the water was rising like a tsunami.

A terrified steward runs by them from the other side of the gate, taking in a small glance of the trapped couple.

“Wait!” Ben begged. “Help us! Please unlock the gate!”

The steward ignored him, going up the stairs but stopped. He turned around, seeing the water was now up to their thighs

Hesitant, the steward turned around, standing against the current. He reached for his key ring, struggling to find the key to unlock the gate as the water fountains up around them. Soon the lights go out, leaving them in darkness.

Suddenly, the gate opened. The couple pushed through the force of water, thankful that the stewards helped them. They all made it to the stairs on the other side and ran to the next deck, knowing the time was running out quickly.

Mr. Murdoch and multiple crewmen struggling to get a lifeboat in the davits. The crowd around them, mostly men, were being held back by gunpoint. Meanwhile, other men and crew were trying to get another lifeboat off the roof.

Adam made his way to one of the last boats, seeing a little girl. She was crying, but Adam moved on without a second glance. He pushed his way to the front, seeing Mr. Murdoch. He tried to signal the man, but the leading officer simply ignored him. Nearby, Chad was being pushed forward by the people behind him.

Mr. Murdoch fires his gun in the air and aimed back at the crowd, warning them “I’ll shoot any men who try to get past men!”

Adam stepped up to him, saying in a low voice “We had a deal, damn you.”
