At the widest passageway, which was used by both crew and steerage, the lower passengers quickly moved along and headed toward the back of the ship.

The few passengers heard a thud that grew louder. Then a wooden door frame burst open under the force of both Mal and Ben. The couple stumbled through and joined the other passengers, while one steward, who was helping others move quickly, marched to them, angry.

"Hey, you! What do you think you're doing?" He yelled, but Ben and Mal ignored him. "You'll have to pay for that you know!"

The two grew more annoyed, not caring about something that will soon be ruined. But the steward was the only one who seems to care. "That's White Star Line property--"

"Shut Up!!" Ben and Mal yelled in a union. They continued walking, joining the other steerage people. Mal shivered, her lips now blue. A Scottish woman, Merida, noticed and handed her a blanket.

"Here, las," She said, wrapping Mal in the blanket. "Best to keep warm,"

Mal turned to her, remembering the sketch she drew of her and her brothers. She pulled it out of her bag and showed it to her. Merida was surprised by it, as were her brothers. The red-head took a small picture frame, showing herself, the triplets, and an older man and woman.

"Our parents died recently," Merida said sadly. "That's why I worked hard to get us all to America. So we can start a new life,"

Mal frowned and handed her the frame. She also handed the drawing to her, but Merida refused.

"I already know what we look like," she joked. Mal smiled, placing the picture back in her bag.

Ben, who was listening to their small conversation, noticed another iron cage that kept them in place. They all continued to walk, heading to the main stairwell that could take them to the higher decks.

On the Boat Deck, Adam pushed through the crowd, scanning for Ben. The scene grew more chaotic by the second.

A woman calling out for her lost child, men trying to get to a lifeboat. Lightoller grabbed a woman who asked him to hold the boat and shove her in. Thomas Andrews rushes up to him, confused.

"Why are the boats being launched half full?" He asked.

"Not now, Mr. Andrews,"

"Look," He pointed at a lifeboat in the water. "Twenty or so in a boat built for 65 people. And I saw one with only twelve!"

"We weren't sure of the weight--"

"Rubbish! Each boat was tested by the weight of 70 men! Now fill them up, for God's sake!!"

Mr. Lightoller nodded and put in more women and children. Meanwhile, Adam found Kit in the crowd.

"We're running out of time." He said. "They're not letting any of the men in at all,"

"The one on the other side is,"

"Then that's our play. But we'll need insurance," Adam nodded. Nearby stood a well dressed elderly couple, Ida and Isador Strauss.

"Please, Ida," Isador pleaded. "Get in the boat,"

"No," she said firmly. "You and I have been together for 40 years. And where you go, I go. Don't argue with me, Isador, you know it does no good."

He looked at her with sadness and love. They embraced each other while another lifeboat lowered to the water below.
