Chapter 19-- The Last Daylight

**Present Day**

The old couple blinked breaking out of their trance. They clenched onto each other's hands and continued telling their story.

"That was the last time Titanic saw daylight," Ben said.

"So we're up to the night of the sinking, " Charlie announced while changing the mini-cassette tape in the recorder. "Six hours to go,"

"Great," His partner exclaimed sarcastically. "There's Smith with the ice warning in his hand, and he's ordering more speed,"

"Why ignore it?" Young Douglas asked.

"He has 26 years of experience" Charlie explains. "He figures if anything big enough to sink the ship they're going to see it in time to turn. The problem is that the ship is too big with too small a rudder, it can't corner anything. Everything he knows is wrong."

Ben and Dove looked into each other's eyes and to a screen that showed the ruins of the husband's old suite.

*April 14, 1912*

"After our first kiss at the bow of the ship, I had a feeling that one of my friends grew closer with their special someone."

After Mal and Ben left, the group of friends was wondering where the man took the young lady.

"He's changed," Audrey explained to Evie, Jay, and Carlos. "And so have we,"

"We change every day," Jay replied. "Sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse,"

Audrey smiled. "I really like you,"

Jay smiled as well. "Me too, but you're engaged. We can't be together,"

The first-class lady frowned and begin to walk back to the stairs. Jay quickly caught up to her and blocked her way.

"What's wrong?"

"As you said, we can't be together," Audrey responded coldly.

"You're engaged to marry Ben,"

"Do you think I want to marry a man I just met other a month ago?" She asked, raising her voice. "I never found someone who I truly loved until I met you,"

Jay was shocked. Audrey waited for him to respond, but he didn't. She turned back to the stairs, ready to go back to her royal life, but was pulled back. Much to her surprise, and to some of the others in the room, Jay pulled her back and kissed her. She didn't but accepted it.

Those around them went quiet. Evie, Doug, Chad, and Lonnie couldn't help but smiled. Though this was the couple's second kiss, this one was the first where both accepted the gesture. Neither one pulled back. When it ended, Audrey fell for him once again.

"You love me again,"

"Who said I ever stopped?"

Both smiled and walked back to the table. When they arrived, they saw that Mal and Ben had returned.

"If you don't mind," Ben explained. "I would like to take Mal to first-class with me,"

"What if your father finds you?" Mal asked, her voice full of worry.

"He won't. Not as long to brandy hold out,"

Mal grabbed her drawing materials and placed them in her side bag with a few of her personal items. She left on the table, holding Ben's hand as he led her to the stairs.

Evie watched her leave. She slightly frowned, and Doug took notice. "She'll be fine,"

"Lo sé, (I know) but I worry that she go back to her old ways,"

"She's changed, we all have,"

Evie smiled and squeezed Doug's hand. She knew her friend will avoid her mother, but the future will come much sooner.

"What do we do now?" Carlos asked, getting everyone's attention.

"We'll keep seeing you," Audrey said.

""Pero, ¿Qué pasará después we get off? (What will happen after we get off)" Evie questioned. "¿Cuando llegamos a América? (When we arrive in America?)"

"She's right," Jay pointed out. "Adam will make sure we'll never see each other again, especially after Audrey and Ben get married."

"Who's to say we'll get married?" Carlos, Jay, and Evie looked at them confused.

"When we arrive," Jane explained. "We are getting off with all of you,"

"You can't," Carlos objected. "What about your mother?"

"She knows Audrey and Ben don't want to get married. She'll help us get away,"

"But none of you know what you'll face?" Jay added.

"We'll take it day by day." Audrey smiled.

The three passengers looked at the higher-class, seeing that none are going to change their mind. They nodded, knowing whatever problems they'll face will be solved.

A/N: Hello my people! Did you all see the new teaser to Descendants 3! I was freaking out even more since the Frozen 2 teaser came out like the day before! I'll post my thoughts soon, I have like so many ideas as to what could happen in both future films.
