You stepped toward her, putting your kunai away. "Cheer up, kiddo. That's still a long ways away. Besides, it's not like it'll be the last time we see each other." You beamed at her brightly, despite the lie you had just woven.
You didn't know if you would ever see the light of day when you went back home. If the coup failed, the Council would either slaughter you, or lock you in a dungeon to be tortured for all eternity.
But Sakura didn't need to know that, so you kept on smiling until she joined in.
You both resumed training, sparring for another twenty minutes before switching partners.
You and Sasuke sparred while Naruto sparred with Kakashi. Sakura observed quietly, absorbing everything she saw you and Emo Boi do.
"So what happened between you and Kakashi-sensei?" The dark haired boy asked.
Your eyes widened in shock, you were surprised that he'd even ask. "Well you see..." You started.
Sasuke used your moment of hesitance to strike, slicing your cheek open with a thrown shuriken.
You chuckled, wiping the blood away. "Someone's got some pent up anger."
The boy ignored you, continuing a merciless pattern of swift kicks and punches. You blocked them all, grabbing his wrist to stop him.
You bent down closer to his ear and whispered to that Sakura wouldn't hear. "If you ever need to let out some anger, just come to me. We can have some 'extra sparring' per say."
You were trying to let him know that if needed a punching bag, you would be their for him. Of course, this punching bag would punch back.
The boy snatched his arm back, smirking. "(Y/N)-sensei, are you flirting with me? That's kinda cheating on Kakashi-sensei."
You furrowed your brow. "No! I'm not flirting with you!!! And stop teasing me and Kakashi!!! You're acting just like Naruto and Sakura."
"Hey!!! I can still hear you!" Sakura called from several yards away.
You rolled your eyes, falling back into a defensive position. Sasuke did the same.
The dark haired boy watched you carefully, as if considering something. Then his expression turned dark and he looked at the ground. "I'd like to have some extra sparring later. There's a few moves I've been working on that I'm trying to perfect."
You smiled proudly, happy that Sasuke felt he could open up to you a little bit more.
When you had first met him, you had seen the sadness behind his eyes and known that he needed help. That his issues needed to be addressed. Now they finally could.
"That's enough for now, guys! Let's take a lunch break before coming back." Kakashi announced to you all.
You immediately sheathed your kunai, dropping out of a fighting stance. Sasuke did the same.
Both of you shuffled back to the center of the clearing to meet up with the others.
"Ichiraku Ramen! Here we come!" Naruto grinned excitedly.
Sakura and Sasuke both groaned in complaint.
"Can't we go somewhere else for a change?" The pinkette said.
Naruto frowned. "But I thought you liked ramen?"
Sakura threw her hands up in frustration. "Yes, I do like ramen! I'm just sick of eating it every single day! It gets old after awhile."
An idea popped into your head. "Have you guys ever heard of 'Midnight Cakes'?"
Everyone glanced at you, Kakashi's gaze catching your attention. Your breath almost caught in your throat at the look of love he sent you. You smiled back at him, trying to convey your own feelings as well. You both shared a fond memory of that bakery, it was the first time you had gotten to know each other. To confess some of your dark secrets.
You looked down at your pupils again. "Well? Have you?"
Sasuke shrugged. "I think I've passed it a couple times."
You nodded in approval. "Good, then that's where we'll eat. If you guys don't even know about this shop, then it'll be a new experience!"
Sakura seemed delighted by the aspect of eating something other than ramen, but Naruto deflated.
You ruffled his hair in reassurance. "It'll be okay, Blondie. It's a change for today. We'll go back to Ichiraku's soon."
The boy smiled up at you faintly, nodding in understanding. Then he skipped ahead of the group, heading down the path.
"Last one's there is a rotten egg!!!" He called behind him.
"Oh no you don't!!!" Sakura called after him before racing to catch up.
Sasuke grumbled to himself before picking up the pace as well.
You rolled your eyes. "Slow down, guys! You don't even know where the shop is!"
Before you knew it, your pupils had turned down the bend of the trail and were out of sight. You didn't worry about it though, they would probably wait for you and Kakashi at the bridge.
You moved forward to try and catch up with your pupils, but a hand caught your wrist, using your momentum to swing you around. Your back gently hit a tree as you were pressed against it by a certain silver haired male.
He pulled his mask down, smirking at your reaction. It was only the second time you had seen his face, but it still took your breath away.
"Finally, I get you all to myself..." The male trailed off huskily as he brushed a hand against your cheek. He leaned in toward you, his lips caressing your jaw.
You felt your cheeks burn, a buzzing sensation in your stomach as his fingertips touched your skin.
"Kakashi... the kids will-" You were cut off as a hand slid under your shirt.
He nuzzled into the crook of your neck. "They'll be fine. I just want five minutes alone with you, that's all."
You understood his yearning, you felt the same way. Part of you just wanted him to take you against the tree, but you knew it wasn't going to happen.
"Kakashi..." You groaned softly as you trailed your hands through his hair. He pressed his body against yours, grinding his hips on you.
You both wanted more, even if you knew it was an inconvenient time and place.
As his hand moved to slide beneath your waist band, you gently pushed him away. "Tonight. Come to my home tonight." You whispered breathlessly.
The silver haired man leaned in, gently kissing you. Your mouths moved slowly, his hands trailing down your back. You wrapped your arms around his neck, deepening the kiss further.
Despite your current lust, you pushed him away, earning a growl of protest. You chuckled, shaking your head. "Don't get so worked up, pervert. You'll get what you want soon enough. We'll both get what we want." You let your hand purposefully trail over his ass as you pulled away.
The look in his eyes was ravenous, you were almost convinced to push him on the ground and join with him now.
But it was a terrible place, and your students were waiting. If you took too long, they would probably come looking for you.
"Let's go pervert, I want to show them how good cake is."
Kakashi pulled his mask back up, shaking his head. "I don't think anyone will appreciate cake the way you do, shortie."
You laughed at his teasing, nodding in agreement. "I agree, no one likes cake like I do."
You both trailed down the path, his hand somehow sneaking around yours, as you both made your way back into the village.
