Chapter Twelve

The woman made a tsk sound, whipping her head around to glare at him. "Just a minute brat, I'll finish you in a second." She turned her attention back to you.

The woman leaned into your neck again, breath wreaking of blood and flesh filling your ear.

"You're mine now." She whispered.

Her words set you off, a flashback returning.

Aunt Fuyu leaned down, sickly sweet breath against your ear.

"You're my little puppet now."

"No." You said. Before the woman could react, you lifted your head up, sinking your teeth deep into her cheek.

She screamed in pain, trying to push away. But you held on firm, ripping a chunk of her face out as she fell backward.

She put a hand over the gap in her face, looking up at you in terror. You stared her down, spitting the chunk of skin in her eye.

She wiped it off, screaming again. This time in fury.

"Shi no honō." You said calmly, looking down at the vines binding you. They crumbled into dust, freeing you.

The woman looked up at you in horror, slowly crawling away. You stalked after her, watching as she tried to slink away. A trail of blood followed her, the hole in her cheek spewing blood everywhere.

"No, please." The woman begged as you knelt down beside her. She looked at you with tears in her eyes. "Please don't kill me."

"How many people of you killed?"

"Please spare me."

"HOW MANY." You screamed. She fell silent, sniffling loudly.

"H-hundreds."

"Hundreds?"

"Y-yeah."

You cocked your head to the side as you surveyed her. "I'll spare you." You said. She sagged in relief.

Before she could react, you grabbed her wrists. "You may live, but you will never kill again."

You awakened your Kekkei Genkai again, centering your eyes on the woman's hands. She screamed in pain as they disintegrated, crumbling into black dust.

She writhed in pain as you stood back up. You looked her down, not a hint of emotion on your face.

"Live a long and miserable life, you wretched witch." You spat at her before walking toward Naruto.

He shook in fear as you approached, staring into the shadow of your hood.

"Y-your eyes."

"Yes Naruto, I have special eyes. That's why I hide them."

You disintegrated the vines around him, causing him to fall to the ground.

"N-no!" He backed away from you as you held out a hand.

You sighed, not surprised by his reaction. Most people acted the same way when they discovered your ability.

"I won't use it anymore. Now get up Blondie. We gotta help the others."

The boy blinked, recognizing his nickname as a reassurance that you were back to your normal self.

"Got it." He said, grabbing your hand as you helped him stand up.

You both surveyed the situation, watching two fights on either side of you.

Sasuke and Sakura were battling the blue haired man, both with minor cuts everywhere. Sakura seemed to be holding up longer than usual. You smiled to yourself, proud that she had remembered her training. You looked to your other side to find Kakashi and Takahiro in a hardcore battle of Taijutsu. They both seemed worn out, but neither seemed ready to give up.
