"Thank you doll," Jasper said as he laid down beside me and pulled me into his chest the night of the wedding.

"Of course Jazzy," I said. "I love you."

"I love you two babygirl. You can regress if you want," he said. He took full control of my emotions, helping to wipe the stress out as he hummed some tune from the 60s.

About two weeks later, we heard from Bella and Edward. I had to be big for the sake of hunting, or I probably wouldn't have ever found out that Bella thought she was pregnant with Edward's child.

"That isn't possible, is it?" I asked. We were all gathered in the living room, awaiting Bella and Edward's return.

"We didn't think it was," Jasper said.

"We haven't ever heard of this before," Carlisle said. "I've studied every book the Volturri have on our kind, and there is nothing."

"What about that Tribe in Brazil?" Rosalie asked.

"The Ticuna?" Esme asked.

"Yeah, they have stories of our kind. Maybe they know something we don't," Rosalie said.

"It's always a possibility," Jasper said. I grabbed onto his hand, sitting down on the arm of his chair. I wiped my eyes with my free hand, trying to stay big.

"Babe?" Jasper asked softly. I just smiled at him gently.

"Jasper, did you ever hear anything while with Maria?" Carlisle asked.

"No, I didn't," Jasper spoke.

"Alice?" I asked.

"I can't see it. I can't see Bella either," she said. I could tell she was becoming annoyed with everything and she needed Seth. Jasper placed his hand on my leg gently to try and calm me down some.

"Someone has to go to Brazil," Emmett said.

"We need people here. This is where the fight will be. Between the pack's fear of the new being and the Volturri's hatred of us, we can't let anyone leave," I said.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Esme asked.

"The pack will be scared of the unknown. Even with Alice's connection, odds are good we won't be able to convince them the child will do no harm. And, let's face it, the Volturri hate us. We're the strongest coven with the most valuable gifts of our kind," I explained. I heard someone behind me, so I spun quickly only to be met with Bella and Edward.

"I'm glad you feel this way towards the child," Bella said.

"I don't," I said. "I'm indifferent to it just like I'm indifferent to you."

"Look, whatever you're all thinking. It can end. Carlisle, you have to take this thing out of her," Edward said. I could tell he was seriously angry and it was starting to affect Jasper.

"Edward, that's your child you're talking about," I said.

"It's a demon," he seethed.

"Good, it'll fit right in with parents like the two of you," I said.

I got up and ran out of the house, taking off for the meadow that has a stream nearby. I started kicking up wind and dirt while wishing that it would rain. I wanted to be able to play with my power over fire, but without Jasper here to keep me calm, it was too dangerous.

I started to kick up more dust and dirt before I fell to the ground, sobbing violently. I was angry and bitter and irritated. All I ever wanted as a human was to be a mother. Edward is giving up his only shot at fatherhood just because he's scared of his child. I wanted to punch him in the face so he realized how stupid he was being, but i couldn't bring myself to face him again.

"Why?" I yelled, throwing my hands so that some wind would hopefully rip up a sapling and throw it.

Suddenly, a pair of arms wrapped around me, causing me to jump. I stayed tense until the familiar, sweet, smooth accent of the man I love spoke to me.

"Shh, little one, it's all going to be okay."
