“C'mon, darlin,” Jasper said, grabbing my hand as we headed out to a field to train in. Once we arrived in the field, Jasper and I stood together off to the side, his arms around my waist and our fingers interlocked.

We stood in the field while a few of us practiced. We were waiting for the wolves and Edward to show up. Eventually, the wolves walked up, in their wolf forms and Edward pulled up about then with Bella in the Jeep.

“They didn't trust us enough to be in their human forms,” Edward said.

“They came. That's what matters,” Carlisle said. “Will you translate?”

I noticed the sand colored wolf at the end looking at Alice intently as some of the others tried to play fight him. The black wolf in the front snapped at them all and they fell into formation.

Edward stepped forward to help before Carlisle started to talk again. “Jasper has experience with newborns. He'll teach us how to defeat them.”

“They wanna know how newborns differ from us,” Edward said.

“They're a great deal stronger than us because their own human blood lingers in their tissues. Our kind is never more physically powerful than in our first several months of existence,” Carlisle explained. He stepped aside and motioned Jasper forward.

“Carlisle's right. That's why they're created,” Jasper spoke. He articulated his words perfectly, making me love his smooth accent even more.

“A newborn army doesn't need thousands like a human army, but no human army could stand against them,” he spoke towards the wolves. I assumed I was the only one in the family who had no experience with this type of situation.

I moved closer to my family, trying to stay quiet and not interrupt. Alice looked at me and smiled softly as she stood with Bella. I returned the smile, even though Bella and I hate each other.

“Now, the two most important things to remember are: First, never let them get their arms around you. They'll crush you instantly. And, secondly, never go for the obvious kill. They'll be expecting that and you will lose,” Jasper said.

He turned to us and said Emmett's name to get Em to join him behind us where they were practicing.

“Don't hold back,” Jasper joked.

“Not in my nature,” Emmett responded before they started to fight.

As Jasper threw Emmett to the ground, he spoke. “Never lose focus.”

Carlisle and Edward stepped up then, and within a few seconds, Edward had dropped Carlisle to the ground.

“One more thing, never turn your back on your enemy,” Jasper said as Carlisle pulled Edward to the ground.

Jasper motioned Rosalie forward, and for as pretty and girly girl as she is, she's still a good fighter.

Jasper didn't say anything as they finished since Rose was technically flawless. That'll be her downfall, she's going to end up trying to stick to harshly to the books.

Jasper looked at me to step up, and I skipped over happily. That was before I realized why I was so happy.

“Quit with the mood control,” I grumbled, throwing him back with a gust of wind. He hit the ground and bounced up quickly before smirking at me.

“Vivian can control the elements,” Edward said, probably answering a question one of the wolves asked.

“Viv,” Jasper said smoothly as he walked up to me. “Vivian, Darlin’.”

“Stop,” I said, holding up my hand, and trying to ignite some flames.

“Not going to work as long as I keep you happy,” he said. I smirked at him before deciding to just fight him.

We fought quickly for a few seconds, and he turned his back so I silently jumped into the tree above him. He looked around in confusion as Edward scoffed at me and Emmett laughed. I dropped out of the tree, landing a few inches for his back and jumped into his back. I kissed his cheek gently before we went back to training.
