Not In That Way - Lauren Jauregui/You *in editing*

chapter 2.

Lauren chased after me and picked me up from around the waist and carried me back into the music room.

"LAUREN PUT ME DOWN." I yelled playfully.

"Okay." She says with a shrug before dropping me onto one of the bean bags.

"Thank you, now please help me up." I say putting my hand out indicating for her to pull me up.

She grabbed my hand and pulled me up quickly and I ended closer to her than intended, our faces are probably about two inches apart, we are so close that I can feel her breath on my face.

We stood there just looking into each others eyes, then she started to lean in slowly.

I just let her but then I remember how wrong it would be if I let this happen and even though I don't like Luis much I can't do that to him.

I pulled back quickly and cleared my throat.

"I shoud go and see if Ally and Luis are back." She says quickly before turning to exit.

"I should go and make myself look at least slightly presentable." I said followed by an awkward laugh before we both rush off in our separate ways.

The afternoon went by swiftly and without any real excitement.

There was an awkwardness between Lauren and I over the situation earlier which I really needed to talk to her about it.

"You okay?" I heard Camila ask as she came and sat next to me.

"I suppose, just confused." I spoke honestly.

"About what?" She asked curiously.

"Lauren and I nearly kissed earlier." I said in barely above a whisper.

"What! Who made the first move?" Camila whisper yelled.

"She did, I pulled back before anything actually happened." I explained calmly as if it was nothing.

"Why did you pull away, I thought thats what you wanted?" She asked carefully.

"Yes but if we kissed it would have ruined her relationship and our friendship." I said simply.

"But you have been in love with her for over a year and then she nearly kisses you and you pull away and act like its nothing!" She says slightly raises her voice but luckily nobody hears her.

"Thats because it was nothing." I state.

"Seriously girl, you need to get your head checked." She said harshly.

"Wait, why are you mad at me?" I asked sensing her anger.

"I'm not mad, I'm frustrated because you nearly got to kiss the girl you love and make her realise it's you that she wants and you didn't take that chance. If it was me in your shoes I would've kissed the person I loved and not worried about what happened after." She said calmer now.

"You say that as if you've been in love." I spoke, not in a harsh way I can't recall Camila ever being genuinely in love with anyone. To my knowledge at least.

"You'd be surprised." She said just above a whisper.

"I can't stop thinking about it, my head is full of what ifs and buts, and I can't get it out of my head." I say.

I was sat in the corner of the room alone just casually strumming away at a guitair when I saw Lauren sit next to me.

"So much for your whole speech in seventh grade about how you were never going to pick up a guitair again because Sally Jamieson beat you in the talent show." Lauren said with a chuckle.

"I was robbed." I said seriously still holding the guitar, she let out a small laugh.

"Look I wrote this song but I'm kinda nervous about showing it to the girls so can you look at it and tell me if its good or not." She said handing me a piece of paper with lyrics and chords written on it.

"Everlasting Love." I said reading the title of the song.

I read through the song and it was amazing, I didn't know Lauren could write like this.

"Its terrible isn't it." Lauren presumed after I didn't say anything.

"No Lauren, its great. I think I understand it, its like you don't want the love you have with this person to die and you hope that they stay in you life forever because when you're with them it feels like you're dreaming because you're so in love." I said and she looked at the floor shyly.
"Is it about Luis?" I asked and she had a small smile on her face.
"I think it's great no matter who it's about." I said and she hugged me before rushing over to the other girls.

"That all looked very cosy." I heard Luis say as he walked up to me.

"What do you want Luis?" I asked not taking my eyes off of the guitair in my hands.

"Consider this a warning." He said crouching down in front of me.

"A warning about what exactly?" I asked seriously.

"You need to stay away from Lauren." He said and I let out a laugh.

"Not going to happen dude, you see shes like my best friend and has been for years so nothing is going to keep me away from her." I said sternly.

"You stay away from my girlfriend or there will be consequences." He said trying to be intimidating.

"Okay, what sort of consequences?" I asked.

"A magician never reveals all of his tricks." He said trying to be smart.

"What?" I said as he got up and walked away.

I pulled my phone out and texted Lauren telling her that I needed to talk to her about something later and she should meet me by the rooftop pool at midnight.

She replied telling she would be there and got back to recording with the girls.
