A/N: Sorry for making you guys cry, even if it was in a positive sense haha :) Well, here's a short story about Liam, maybe? Before he died that is :( [Note: If you don't like this you can read [93] as a stand-alone]

** also, I gave Carey ((WHY DID I CALL HER CAREY WHAT)) hazel eyes because I thought it'd be nice to describe, but tbh you can give her any eye colour

*** I'm regretting calling Carey Carey?? maybe it's because I was thinking about this weird romance novel I read ages ago about a woman called Carey and a guy called Ben that married in like Las Vegas and divorced after before getting married again after bye I'm weird

"Why can't you be normal, Liam?''Liam's mother sighed desperately as her son entered the room, yet again, tossing his bag onto the floor.

Liam frowned at her.''But, but...but I am n-normal.''

The young boy's innocence did not help to soothe his agitated mother. ''Explain this, then!''

Liam reached over to look at the paper his mother was pointing at. Paper. The paper smelled like coffee. He liked coffee. ''Coffee? I didn't drink coffee just now, I promise.''

His mother glared at him. ''Liam!''she hissed warningly. ''Look. At. The. Paper!''

Liam squinted at the paper in wonder, tracing over the familiar letters again and again. Red ink. Black ink. More letters. What was it that his mother was so angry about? The paper was perfectly fine, after all. Smooth and even.

''Red and blue equals purple. There isn't blue on the paper,''he mused dreamily.

His mother looked about to explode. ''Don't you see your problem? You're a failure, Liam. You'll never be able to succeed in life. Ever. Can't you understand?''

''Yes, Mother.''

''Good! Now try to act your age and be more normal!''

''Yes, Mother,''Liam repeated quietly. But as he left the room, he couldn't help but feel a sort of emptiness inside.

*

''How are you feeling today, Liam?''

''Purple.''

*

''Blue is for sad, yellow is for happy, red is for anger, green is for envy, orange...orange is for-''

''Orange is for confidence, Liam!''

''Confidence? But that's purple, Mother,''Liam looked confusedly at his mother.

His mother glared at him. ''Orange is for confidence.''

Liam nodded obediently.''I'm going to bed, Mother.''

Purple was for confidence.

*

''Red is for anger, Blue is for sad, yellow is for happy, and orange-''

Liam's chanting was interrupted by a noise from behind him. Sighing, he paused in his tracks and turned around. A girl was staring at him like he was some kind of inhumane creature.

''What are you? A five year old child?''she asked in disgust as she scrunched up her nose and made a face of obvious disapproval.

''What do you mean, a five year old child? I'm perfectly fine, thank you very much,''the voice inside Liam's head protested indignantly.

Out loud, he managed to stammer,''I-I'm not f-five.''

''When you're talking such rubbish? Sure you are,''the girl snorted. Liam blinked at her.

''W-What do you mean, rubbish?''he demanded defensively.

''Whatever,''the girl rolled her eyes-and Liam noticed, much to his wonder, that they were a whole new colour-a mixture of blue, green and brown, all at once.

Blue was for loyalty, green was for harmony, and brown was for steadfastness.

''Erm...well, m-my name's Liam.''
