''It's the last day,''I told him shakily.''Our last day.''

He looked at me then, and in his eyes, I realized with a sinking feeling, was not just pain, but confusion and hate and fear, all at once-and it hurt. ''It can't be,''he mumbled hoarsely.

 ''It can't be,''he repeated desperately when I refused to meet his eyes.

''I'm sorry,''I whispered.

And then we started falling.

It must've been a minute at the most, but to me, it felt like a whole eternity. Why wouldn't it all come to an end? She'd said so herself, didn't she? She'd said that they'd all die. She'd said that no one would survive.

But was it all a lie?

Lies were lies-and now, even what we'd all thought was true was now a lie. I'd believed, I'd trusted, I'd loved, I'd cared, but for what? If I was going to continue to be naive and gullible, I'd just end up hurting everyone. Everyone I cared about.

I couldn't continue. Not if that was going to happen. I shivered and made up my mind. It would be for everyone's good, wouldn't it? 

Goodbye, world. Goodbye.

''I'm sorry,''I whispered as I let go of my life, all at once as the knife started to fall.
