Chapter 10

SM Entertainment to release a new group, with a fresh style.

The entertainment will release a new group, 'New Melody' consisting of 8: 4 boys, and 4 girls. Song Haneul (Haneul), Park Chasung (Chasung), Kim Jaesung (Jaesung), and Jang Minhyun (Minhyun) for the boys' unit, with Haneul as the leader, and Jung Sohyun (Sohyun), Choi Herin (Herin), Na Sowon (Sowon), and Song Hayoung (Hayoung), with Sohyun as the leader for the girls' unit.

The said group will debut on the 3rd day of October, with their comeback stage the day after.

Members Haneul and Hayoung are siblings, as member Sowon is cousins with NCT's Jaemin.

"So what Junghee heard was right," Soeun nodded when she read the article.

Haejin was looking at the window, staring at the raindrops that was stained on it. "Unnie?" Yui called. But she didn't look at her.

"Haejin-unnie?" This time, Xiurong called her.

Eunji sighef and approached her. She snapped her fingers in front of Haejin and said, "Earth to Lee Haejin!"

And that's when she snapped out of it. "W-What?"

Eunji sighed and shook her head, "Guys, can you..." without finishing her sentence, the members nodded. They all went outside to give the two privacy.

"Is something bothering you?" Eunji asked.

Haejin shook her head, "Yes—No. I don't know..." she sighed.

"You know that you don't have to be scared right? We're all here for the two of you."

Jaemin, on the other hand, was with NCT, EXO, and Super Junior. They're currently watching New Melody rehearse.

Jaemin is seated next to Mark, and he feels like he really need to get out of there. Dang, If Haejin's here, I'd be dead by this time.

He's been tapping his foot repeatedly. And Mark noticed his uneasiness. "Are you okay?"

Jaemin opened his mouth but someone cut him off, "Oh, Jaemin-ah!" It was Sohyun. And she immediately clung onto her.

Mark raised a brow. She really had the guts to call him informally? I thought Haejin is the only girl younger than her who can call him informally? What in the world?

"Ah, Sohyun-ssi, you seemed very close with Jaemin here..." Mark said, with a slight tone which made Jaemin shiver.

"Oh hello Mark-oppa!" She greeted.

"I'll talk to you later, Jaemin-ah." Mark said, leaving the two.

"Hyung, I promise it was nothing!!" Jaemin said, following Mark to their practice room.

"Oh yeah? I thought that Haejin is the only one who could call you informally aside from us?" Mark raised a brow. He was pissed. No, he was beyond pissed.

"Hyung, I didn't even tell her to call me informally! Hyung, I swear. Haejin is the only one! Hyung trust me... that girl and I aren't even close!" Jaemin said, rambling.

Mark sighed, "I told you before right...? Take cate of my sister. If time will come in which she'll call me crying because of you, I might even forgot that we're friends."

"Hyung... I would never do that. I love her. I'd rather remain single forever than loving someone else." Jaemin said, his eyes full of sincerity.

Mark sat down, "Fine. I won't tell her. Promise me— no. Promise her, Jaemin-ah. I trust you with her."

"I know, hyung."

3 days later

Haejin was with her co-members at the backstage. They were dressed in blue and white with glitters and jewelries on their skin.

They were waiting for their turn to perform. And for Haejin, it was nerve-wrecking. It's been a ear since she last performed in front of a crowd.

When it was their turn to perform, their fans started chanting their names, with the last words "Be one again" which is their latest comeback.

She looked at the front row. She was quite disappointed when she saw that it wasn't Jaemin.

But, as they say, the show must go on.

"What's with that face unnie?" Xiurong asked when they were inside the waiting room.

They were all catching their breaths, they were exhausted after performing a 4-minute song with an exhausting choreography.

"I'm fine." Haejin answered.

"Is everything alright? Can you breathe properly? Nebulizer?" Eunji offered. Haejin shook her head. "No, really. I'm fine."

Well, she was just disappointed because Jaemin wasn't there to watch them at their first comeback stage as 6 again. He was always there during their first comeback stage before.

She could understand. Maybe they're busy. Maybe he got a lot of things to do. Maybe they're rehearsing. Maybe he got a tight schedule.

Or maybe he just forgot.

She shook her head, trying to shake the thought off.

But it couldn't just enlighten her.
