It was safe to say Catgirl hated Washington. It was far too cheery and pro-superhero for her liking. She was much more comfortable in gloomy Gotham where the GCPD hated the heroes arguably more than they did her. Here ,in Washington, she couldn't go anywhere without seeing a Superman logo-and she really hated Superman.

To help relieve her discomfort, she'd been playing a game she called, 'anyone wearing a superhero logo dies.'

Naturally, she'd lost count of her score, because even when she was feral Catgirl didn't like to think about her body count.

Having around 20-30 more points than the boring sidekick she was appointed, Catgirl wasn't exactly worried about losing her lead at the game anyway.

"Hey...you gonna mess this up for us?", Sportsmaster asked as he gestured her bloody claws, "Because you know what happens next time you mess up a mission- the head...is gonna have your head.", he motioned his thumb across his throat, making his point.

As fearful as Catgirl should've been with a threat like that, she only rolled her eyes at him in response.

They were here on behalf of their 'boss', Ra's Al Ghul aka The Demon's Head.

Ra's wanted them to steal Superman's DNA for some lab's crazy science experiment. Catgirl was the one to do the theft, Sportsmaster was just there to make sure she actually delivered it.

It didn't take a genius to see she'd rather be selling it on the black market for a much higher payment than what they'd be getting today- if you could even call what she'd be getting payment.

The experiment- 'project', as everyone else was calling it, was to clone Superman and then turn his clone into a weapon.

They were calling it, 'Project Kr'.

Catgirl had been told if she cared for science in the slightest she would've thought the name alone was genius.

She didn't.

Catgirl suggested, 'Superboy', as it was the better name, but they stuck with Kr.

She also suggested getting paid in cash like Sportsmaster. Bad pay was better than no pay- definitely better than what Cadmus were giving her in exchange for stealing DNA from the alien most considered as 'a god among man':

A clone.

What she'd actually do with the clone was undecided, but Catgirl knew they'd eventually tell her that too. If they didn't already have a plan for the clone, it wouldn't have been brought up.

It was rare they ever gave her anything as payment that she could freely use, but if this clone was an exception then she was stuck between using it to mess with The GCPD, to let them chase around a fake Catgirl, or use it to steal for her and save the effort of doing it herself. Both seemed like fun to her, so maybe she'd do both- even if that wasn't the plan.

Catgirl didn't realise she was zoning out until Sportsmaster grabbed the case containing the DNA from her. "Ok kid, we're here. Get your head in the game or you'll lose it.", he grumbled, starting to lose his patience.

"Is that a threat?", She smirked at him, "Because the only reason you still have your own is because you're not wearing a superhero shirt."

"A warning.", Sportsmaster narrowed his eyes, "These scientists' bosses don't play nice."

Catgirl looked up at him confused as he pressed the buzzer to get into the building. "Don't we have the same bosses?", she questioned.
