23) Ruins

(Y/N) POV

We got the team back from the Warworld. But we don't know where Blue is, or more said, what is he doing right now with our enemy. He has become the great hero of the planet Earth. 

''Alright, here is the plan. When Blue Beetle arrive at El Paso, shall Batgirl grab him with her robe, so that Impulse can run up and destroy his jet-pack. Jewel is making a crystal shield with help from Rocket.'' Says Nightwing. I am so ready to safe my best friend. 

''Then let's go.'' I said happily and get my uniform on. I take Impulse hand, and he takes Rocket, then Zatanna and Batgirl. I gonna use the crystal bracelet to teleport us to where Jaime is, witch is luckily in El Paso. 

''Everyone on their position.'' Batgirl takes over the role as leader for this mission. Batgirl start the mission and send a grabble gun at Blue Beetle's leg, and it stop him.

''Batgirl, what are you doing? You know this won't hold us.'' Says Blue Beetle. I can hear it is not himself. He doesn't have his accent.

''It will hold for a couple seconds. And a couple seconds.'' Says Batgirl back and is the cue for Impulse to run on the line.

''Is more than I need.'' I hear Impulse said. He manage to put his hand on Blue back and destroy it. They land a little far away, but I am strong enough to fly with Batgirl.

''Sweet dreams, Blue.'' Batgirl try to make him fall asleep with some smoke bombs, but it didn't work on him. Batgirl try to get a siluet of him, but Blue Beetle send a needle (Don't know what it's called) at her and she lands on the a tree, unconsciousness. Blue did the same to Impulse. Rocket and Zatanna is not ready with the spell.

''Hey, Blue.'' I called out. Blue Beetle look over to my way with hate in his eyes. ''I know the truth that you are not yourself. And I won't stop until I get my real friend back, so let's fight Scarab.'' Blue Beetle seem a little shocked that I know the truth.

''Then let's finish this so you can return back to the Reach.'' The Scarab activate his scythe and I make myself two katanas. The first ten second was silent, until Blue started by swinging his blade towards my face. I dodge and jump to the side, only to dodge another one. ''Dodging won't help you all the time.''

''Well that just mean you believe I am dodging and not distracting you.'' I smirked and trow my blade be Blue's side, and then grow a big crystal ball. Rocket quickly use her powers and before Blue Beetle could destroy it, comes Zatanna and make the ball undesotryable. 

''I have reinforced Rocket's force bubble with my magic. Blue is not going anywhere.'' Says Zatanna beside Rocket. Blue Beetle then look at me with hurt emotional eyes.

''Jewel, you betrayed me. Your best friend.'' Oh please. The Reach won't fool me with that.

''For the first, bad impression on my best friends. Second I already know that is you, the Reach, who is controlling Jaime Reyes. To think you believe that I would fall for that. Do you think I am stupid?'' I snorted and walk over to Batgirl and Impulse, and help them out.

*Time skip*

''Enjoy your advantage while you can. The Reach track my every move. And when we are through with you there won't be enough left for a DNA identification.'' Says Blue Beetle, or the ambassador from the Reach.

''Can we maybe make the ball soundproof?'' I ask a little annoyed.

''Luckily are we at our destination.'' Says Batgirl. We end up in Bialya. Batgirl blow up some rock from a mountain, beneath and old military base. Behind the dust is there a landing place for a plane. But there was still some guards, inside. Zatanna take their weapon while Impulse knock them all out. Then Impulse get capture by the leg of one of our enemy. I don't remember her name, but she is strong. Just like the rest of the villains, don't I remember their names, but we are in trouble. Rocket can't do anything else than holding the bubble.

''I protect you Rocket.'' I said and make a hammer. I knock over what looks like to be a boy over to Zatanna. She talk backwards and knock over the villains into a hole, and Batgirl shut it close with foam.

''Girlfriend, someday you have to tell me how you figure out those backward words so fast.'' Says Rocket. I help Sphere up, who is still in it's car mode.

''Maybe backwards is my native tongue.'' Says Zatanna back

''Come on, let's get to work.'' Batgirl start walking towards our destination. And shrine like platform, with a scarab chomped into the stone wall, along with symbols around it.

''You, uh, sure you got the power for this?'' Ask Impulse to Zatanna.

''Me, no. But I will summon it from those who do.'' Says Zatanna and walk up to the circle platform area. Rocket place the bubble with Blue Beetle inside, to the same platform. ''Retne a ecnart ot eraprep rof eht lautir.'' (Translate: Enter a trance to perpare for the ritual.) Zatanna start flying up in the air, and the symbols behind her start glowing. 

''We got an intruder.'' Says Batgirl. It's Green Beetle. Probably here to get Blue. Not gonna happen. Sphere knock him out of the air and to the ground, and I stamp his arms to the ground like Blue Beetle can do. He got free but Batigrl send a fire bomb and Impulse make it surround him. He went underground and behind those two, and shot them. Beast Boy come and turn himself into an elephant. Then Bumblebee comes and shot him in the eyes, and Wonder girl capture him with her robe, so that Robin can kick him.

''Zatanna, please hurry.'' I called and fly over to her. As called comes there a stone scarab and place itself into on her forehead. A lady appeared and the spell get cast. Rocket let Blue go, but he and Green Beetle try to shot Zatanna, but Impulse take Green and trow him to the shot spot, so both Blue and Green Beetle will be affected. A pillar of light bright up the hole cave, and when it died was both Beetle standing and groaning.

''Laever ohw slortnoc ruoy sbaracs.'' (Reveal who controls your scarabs.) The armor removes and Jaime and a green martian is reveal. ''It worked. Jaime and B'arzz O'oom are back in control of their own bodies.''

''It's true. I can feel it. I am free of the Reach. For real this time.'' I couldn't stop my excitement.

''Jaime.'' I jump into his arm, and he stumble a little. 

''You are one hundred percent sure? Because we have been through this before.'' Informed Batgirl.

''He is telling the truth. I can feel it in his crystal bracelet. He is the real Jaime.'' I informed back and hug him closer for dear life.

*Time skip*

We fly over the sea, getting back to base.

''So spill. How did you know how to cure us? That temple wasn't even in the Reach's database.'' Ask Jaime, in his armor and flying beside Sphere, with me beside him and holding his hands.

''Bumblebee and I first came across it months ago on another mission. I couldn't help noticing the Blue Scarab imagery and recorded a holographic file of the symbols and hieroglyphics.'' Start Batgirl.

''Dr. Fate was able to translate the glyphs which revealed a mystic ceremony the ancients had used to cleanse the scarab of Reach control.'' I finish for her.

''That's why my scarab was off-mode when I found it.'' Says Jaime.

''But what I am happy about is to have my best friend back.'' I hugged Jaime and fly a little faster. ''I am gonna come back to base first.'' I challenge and start flying faster. Blue Beetle is follow me with Sphere and the others on our tail.
