"Oh, I'm just..."

Think quick Ava, think quick.

"Just admiring this beautiful painting," I say, pointing to the wall.

Nice.

"An original might I add," she explains, leaning forward and touching my arm.

Liam and Harry exit the room, and I try my best to not appear as startled by Sophia's appearance, and more importantly – to not act as if I had been eavesdropping.

"So it's getting late," Harry says aloud. "Did you want to get going Ave?"

"Sure," I nod, feeling a now awkward tension in the room that wasn't there earlier on in the evening.

"Will we be seeing the two of you tomorrow at Ashton's?" Sophia asks, quite eager.

"Yeah, I think we are," I answer, looking at Harry as I reply.

We say our goodbyes before returning to the car.

"Fuck I'm hungry," Harry states to no one in particular.

"Me too." I agree. "I could have killed you back there by the way."

"What? Why?" he asks, mocking an innocent demeanor.

"Oh sorry Sophia, I'm allergic to canola oil," I wittily reply, putting on a deep voice for him. "She knows you're full of shit by the way."

"I should have won an Oscar for that performance back there," he muses.

"The only think you deserve to gain from that experience is E Coli or Salmonella which I'm pretty sure I'm going to get from that dinner," I laugh.

"McDonalds?" he suggests.

"McDonalds," I agree.

We place our orders through the drive thru and he begins the drive back home.

"It sometimes makes me sad that we can never eat inside a McDonalds," I say aloud.

Though I really don't mean McDonalds in particular. I mean so much more.

"It does, does it?" he laughs. "And why is that?"

"Not just McDonalds," I reply. "But anywhere. I can't just go to the movies with you, or go shopping, and do normal things couples do."

He looks down momentarily before he focuses on the road again.

"I'm sorry."

"I don't want you to apologise for who you are," I elaborate. "I just wish that things could be different sometimes. That we could turn off what people think of us, and just be us."

"I know," he explains.

We continue driving with the radio on quiet and just when he's about to take the turn off into Chelsea, he swerves and continues straight.

"What are you doing Harry?" I ask, completely bewildered. "Where are you taking us?"

"Going somewhere normal couples would go," he replies, taking my thigh in his hand and squeezing.
