A/N:
For all the refugees and homeless children
STOP THE WARS
STOP THE POLITICAL ARGUMENTS
YOU SAY YOU MUST BUILD A WALL
WELL I WILL KNOCK IT DOWN
ANSWER ME THIS ONE QUESTION,WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO YOU??
PICK A FIGHT ON SOMEONE YOUR OWN SIZE

You have to understand
Leaving home is dangerous
And hazardous
And hard
Everything and everyone
Thrown away, lost
Leaving home because
Your life depends on it
Leaving home because
Home is chasing you

Its not easy, running away
Its not like you had a choice
Its like living in a jungle
Constantly being chased by predators
Not getting a wink of sleep
Soldiers who shout at us
Holding flaming torches
Brandishing guns
People yelling out in pain
Children screaming
Babies crying
Families torn apart
Waves of sorrow washing over us like a tsunami
Sounds of explosions, our village getting destroyed

We run until our chests are hurting
Until our hearts are pounding in our ears
Until our legs can carry us no more

Life won't be the same of course ;withour our home
But home isnt just where you live
The real home is where your family is
And that, that is most important

We walk miles every day
Hitch hike when we can
We reach the docks
Hoping to get on a boat
That would carry us out of this strange land
This ravaged country that was once my everything
Ships captain sees us
Almost dead on our feet
Sighs... then lets us on

Stormy weather; the waves
Battering our only chance of survival
Landing blows on our already broken spirit
Splash! Splash! Splash!
Boat overturns
We fall into the sea
Feel desperate
Angry
Sad
My family was dead, deceased
After all our efforts, only i could make it
To the distant country
Gulp! I struggled to keep going

Silence
The water calmed
But my heart did not
I fought back the tears
My family were gone
I felt liKe i was drowning

Finally, a man found me

I am happy now, and grateful
That i have another family, another home
But there will always be this empty hole
In my heart
Which can never be filled
