(Jimin POV)

"Happy Birthday, Jiminie!"
The excited exclamation was followed by the muffled 'pop' of a confetti popper. Bright strands of colorful confetti raining down around me and adding a pop of color to the crisp white bed sheets on which I sat.

"Thank you, Nurse Song. " I offered my best smile, using my fingers to shake my hair free of the confetti.

"How old are you now, dear?" The nurse placed a big, brown stuffed bear in front of me, along with a pale yellow envelope. Immediately, I pulled the bear into my lap and hugged it, burying my face against its soft fur before peeking up at Nurse Song.

"I'm 19 now." I said, thoughtfully. 19 years already...10 of which I had spent within this hospital. I hugged the stuffed bear closer to me, giving a heavy sigh before I looked up at nurse Song, offering a smile. "Thanks again for the mini celebration, I really appreciate it."

"Of course, Jimin. You're like family. Now come here for your birthday hug. " Nurse Song opened her arms wide, her smile and kind eyes welcoming me.

I set my bear aside and stood, striding over to her and practically leaped into her arms, hugging her tightly. Her embrace was warm and motherly, I closed my eyes as she planted a kiss on my head. Nurse Song was like a mother to me, she'd been with me since the day I arrived.

"Well, I have to get going now, dear." She squeezed me before releasing me from her embrace, her hands on my shoulders as she held me at arms length. "I'll see you soon, dumpling." Nurse Song laughed and then ruffled my hair as I pouted at her nickname for me, though that really only proved her nickname right, as my cheeks had a tendency to puff out when I pouted.
Nurse Song twirled on her heels and headed to the door, pulling it open and stepping out, though she soon peeked back in, her sing-song voice chirped up.

"Doctor Kim will be in shortly to--"
"Take blood for lab tests. I know. " I finished her sentence with a smile, which made her laugh and wave me away before she walked out, the door clicking shut behind her.

I let out a tired sigh, running a hand through my messy hair, brushing it back. Another day, another set of blood drawn by Doctor Kim.

I walked over to the window and opened the blinds, greeted by the blueish light of the early morning. Being on the 10th floor had its perks; the view was amazing. Fog lightly covered the ground, making it grey and dream-like. However, people were already out and about, they looked like little ants from where i was. I could see the first golden rays of sunlight peeking over the buildings. It made me happy, every morning was a new beginning. Every sunrise was special to me, because it meant that I was still alive and had survived yet another night.

Smiling, I turned away from the window and plopped back down on my bed, cross- legged. I pulled the stuffed bear into my lap and then picked up the yellow envelope nurse Song had brought, carefully opening it. I pulled out a bright pink birthday card, the front cover had ballons and cake on it. I opened to it, my smile growing bigger as I carefully read all the birthday messages from various staff. However, Doctor Kim's and Nurse Song's notes stood out because they were so big, and surrounded by hearts. I shook my head, chuckling as I closed the card and returned it to the envelope. Squeezing my bear, I fell back on the bed and then rolled to my side, facing the windows.

When I arrived at this hospital, I had nothing but the clothes on my back. It had been cold, and rainy. Someone had been carrying me, as I was weak and running a high fever. I remember Doctor Kim had been there...and someone had been crying while someone else yelled...but my memories from then were fuzzy. I don't remember who brought me. But what hurt me the most, was the fact that I couldn't remember anything before that...not even my childhood, my parents, friends, or family... nothing.
