The following are all poetry assignments from my Creative Writing Class I am taking this year. Lemme know what you think.

Prompt 1~ Write a poem with the following words as the end to each line: Flag, Happy, Bag, Sappy, Wow, Pencil, Cow, Stencil, Poop, Paper, Soup, Vapor, Cat, Hat.

Poem 1~
A young girl waves a single worn flag
A group of children are all happy
A favorite toy is stuffed into a bag
A group of adults are all sappy

The procession brought out of all a wow
The lucky child was catching a pencil
The old women ahead is having a cow
The joy was drawn in with a stencil

All ignore that the road is lined with poop
All ignore the deep litter of paper
All ignore that their meals are now only soup
All ignore the water's now vapor

Along the road runs a single black cat
Along in the breeze blows away a hat

Prompt 2~ Write a 10 line poem, 8 syllables a line, with a rhyme scheme ABCB DEFE GG.

Poem 2~
A dampened house filled with nothing
Until its light bulb flickers on
Heavy footsteps echo within
Dirt ground will soon be walked upon

Bare feet left prints deep in the ground
A single voice now can be heard
Quiet yet gruff the voice calls out
"I am not them, please be assured"

Once children young, they peered out
Now adults cold, aloud they shout

Prompt 3~ Create a Petrarchan Sonnet, which contains the rhyme scheme ABBA ABBA CDECDE.

Poem 3~
A young girl sat at her desk in her room
She types out a tale that came from a dream
Her eyes are alight with a child-like gleam
To others this place may seem like a tomb

Alone, her imagination will bloom
Her stories flow from her mind in a stream
No matter what's said, it's not what they seem
Her tales will never to her bring on gloom

So long as she writes, she's nothing to fear
The stories she tells never bring her strain
The characters she creates are her friends
No matter the horrible words they sneer
No matter how often she drowns in pain
No matter the nights spent only with pens

Prompt 4~ Write four Haiku. Their syllable count is 5, 7, 5, and rhyming is not necessary.

Poem 4.1~
A mossy dark place
Dripping water from above
A grave for a beast

Poem 4.2~
The dark sky turns bright
With glowing stars waking up
To live in the night

Poem 4.3~
The moon falls to sleep
As the sun wakes in morning
Looking for its love

Poem 4.4~
I can write Haiku
If I really want to try
To get a good grade

Prompt 5~ Write an Acrostic Poem focused on your greatest fear.

Poem 5~
A tall building, twenty stories high
Cars rushing below making me awry
Risk if you dare to look down below
Outside my control, glance out the window
Perhaps the glass will break by my hand
Horrible thoughts: I can't trust where I stand
Over-driven by fear, stumble away
Blurred out surroundings, they tell me to stay
I can't stand anymore, I won't walk outside
A twenty-story building, can't say I tried
ACROPHOBIA- A Fear Of Heights
(There was a picture with this, but I actually feel a little faint and ill from looking at it so it is not being added here.)

Prompt 6~ Write four Epigram Epitaphs. One must be for yourself, one for a fictional character, one for a famous person (who is alive, and not Donald Trump), and one for either your significant other or your worst enemy.

Poem 6.1 (Mine)~
Here lies a girl who tried to write
And barely slept a wink at night
But at this point it's all okay
It doesn't matter either way
No matter what is in your head
Soon enough we'll all be dead

Poem 6.2 (Fictional Character)~
Barney is a dinosaur
Of that lyric I am sure
But what happens underneath
Why's a child's friend have teeth
That is why he now will sleep
His evils simply spread too deep

Poem 6.3 (Famous Person)~
Here lies the author Stephen King
The man could scare with anything
Perhaps he took the scare too far
With a real human eating car
From within a new book was spit
He's sure this one will be a hit

Poem 6.4 (Generic Worst Enemy)~
Here lies another one,
Who now will control none.
They dared to anger me;
No more as now I'm free.
In case you could not tell-
We'll meet again in hell.

Prompt 7~ Write three Limericks, which have the rhyme pattern AABBA and have general syllable counts for each line (you can Google that if you care to know).

Poem 7.1~
There once was a white and pink bear
No matter the time he was fair
Just come and make friends
His hand he still lends
And there it will stay 'til its tear

Poem 7.2~
There once was a fluffy black cat
It's owner was really a brat
She never let me play
She got it taken 'way
So down on her ass she then sat

Poem 7.3~
When young I had a favorite block
On ev'ry head, that block I would knock
It's letter said "C"
It's number was "3"
And with it in my hands I could walk
