Hai. I'm back again. Idk why I'm being awkward. Well, this was kinda requested by MCWildflowers I HOPE you enjoy. For the sake of this one shot, Preston, Mitch, and Jerome are the football players (I wrote pilots. Idk what I'm thinking XD). That moment when you swear you here Mat's voice coming from your brother's YouTube and get excited. It was just some NASCAR guy ;-;

When I feel that chill, smell that fresh cut grass. I'm back in my helmet, cleats, and shoulder pads. Standin' in the huddle listenin' to the call. Fans goin' crazy for the boys of fall.

Jerome smirked as he shoved Mitch before running ahead. "Aw, Biggums!" Mitch yelled. Preston chuckled as he nudged Mitch.
"If you love him, let him go." Preston said morbidly.
"Yeah right. You wouldn't allow it." Mitch said as he began to put on his helmet.
"H*ll yeah I wouldn't." Preston replied as he finished getting on his clothes.
"I'm glad someone loves me." Jerome cooed before dragging them outside. They headed to the huddle the coach had made, hearing the ghost cheers of the crowd.

They didn't let just anybody in that club, Took every ounce of heart and sweat and blood To get to wear those game day jerseys down the hall. The kings of the school, man, we're the boys of fall.

Lachlan, Vikk, and Rob sat along the sidelines, watch the other three in tight pants happily. Vikk was shifting around in Lachlan's lap, giggling when Lachlan would tense up. The boys had worked so hard to get on the team, and the other three agreed that all the working out and practice in their backyards was worth it. But, they got to where their Jerseys down the halls, sometimes letting one of the others wear it when they hung out at one of their houses. They were considered sacred because of those Jerseys, and it helped when the bullies attacked.

Well it's, turn and face the stars and stripes. It's fightin' back them butterflies. It's call it in the air alright yes sir we want the ball. And it's knockin' heads and talkin' trash. It's slingin' mud and dirt and grass. It's I got your number, I got your back When your back's against the wall. You mess with one man, you got us all, The boys of fall.

Everyday they pledged to the American flag, glad to live in the great country. Yes, it was the country of hamburgers and obesity, but it was also the land of Football. And that game made these boys.
Every game they fought back the butterflies that made them feel sick. They'd of course get moral support from the others, but it only helped some. They still rammed helmets with some of the "smart ones" and slung trash talk towards the enemies. That didn't make them any less sweet and kind, they were just playing the game. Just like how'd they come home after a game with mud and grass caked onto their skin. And after a short shower, they smelled like their perfect self again.

In little towns like mine that's all they got, Newspaper clippings fill the coffee shops. The old men will always think they know it all. Young girls will dream about the boys of fall.

The boys lived in a little town, but that town revolved around the football team. News articles about the team winning games and championships filled the coffee shops of town. Whenever they'd visit, the old men would start complaining as they always did. Saying they had lowered their standards, or they didn't toughen them up like they used to. Some complaining that they didn't train as much as they used to. But they still won often, so none of it mattered. That, and they made all the little girls in town melt. A smile or wink from a football player made a girl melt, or sigh, or laugh giddily. They loved the attention, but the others didn't.

Well it's, turn and face the stars and stripes. It's fightin' back them butterflies. It's call it in the air alright yes sir we want the ball. And it's knockin' heads and talkin' trash. It's slingin' mud and dirt and grass. It's I got your number, got your back When your back's against the wall. You mess with one man, you got us all, The boys of fall.

The six were often bullied, it being know that they were all gay and probably more than friends. Vikk was often stuffed into lockers. Lachlan getting his shins kicked so he wasn't nearly as tall. Rob's flower crowns getting ripped apart, them often ripping off the petals one by one just to watch the boy suffer as his work was ruined. Preston would get shoved around, the "wimp and fatty of the team". Jerome would get his nose smacked or be dragged by his nose. And they'd often steal Mitch's hoodie or dog tags, mocking him for his "jewelry" which included some piercings. The captain of the team had said that he just had to take out his ear piercing when it came to game day, and he was okay with that.
But no matter how scared the others were, they'd stand up for the other members of their group. They'd pick the lockers Vikk got shoved in. They'd pull Lachlan to a stand when he was down. They'd punch whomever ruined Rob's crown and offer to help fix it. That often led to a night of cuddling and not getting any work done. They'd hold Preston and promise him he was beautiful. They'd kiss Jerome's nose and say how cute it was. And they'd get Mitch's hoodie and dog tags back, fixing them on his shaky frame. They'd put back in his earrings or other piercing whenever they fell out and kiss the skin they pierced through.

We're the boys of fall. We're the boys of fall.

They were the boys of fall, and they called themselves the Pack.
