Chapter 50: Naruto's Feelings - Nia's Love

"Curly Brow, that was seriously good! I can't believe you cook that good. Who taught you all this?"

"My mom," Nia answered as Naruto tapped on his stomach as they sat on tatami mats, "She's a good cook so I asked her to teach me and now I'm pretty good at it too."

"Good? You're great, kid!" Jiraiya commented as he then looked to Naruto, "You're lucky she's offering to cook all this good stuff for you, Naruto. Maybe now you won't be eating ramen as much..."

"No way! Ramen is everything! I have to eat that no matter what, ya know!"

Nia sighed, "You know Naruto, I wouldn't mind making you breakfast everyday and bringing it to your place each morning."

"Huh?" The blue-eye male glanced at the girl, "Are you serious about all this? You'll really cook for me?"

Nia nodded, "Yeah. Of course I would. Especially if that makes you happy."

"It does..." He smiled softly then looked down.

There goes that feeling again... I feel really happy again... and cared for. I wonder why I feel this way a lot...?

Jiraiya sighed as he watched his student smiling to himself again.

When will he ever learn? Why is it so hard for him to understand his feelings? I already told him he seems much happier and at peace with Nia than he is with Sakura. He's free to be himself around her cause she accepts him for who he is. He doesn't have to impress her because she's already impressed by him. Nia loves him and yet... Naruto still can't seem to understand that his feelings for Sakura aren't as deep as he believes it to be. Sasuke was the source of his agony back then... but Sakura played a part in that as well. He's happier in Nia's presence because she treats him the way he's always wanted to be treated when he was an outcast. He needs to open his eyes before she moves on and assumes he'll never like her...

His eyes then went on Nia, whose eyes were on her crush.

'Look at her staring at him like that...' The sannin thought as he observed the girl's eyes, 'Staring at him as if he's the most amazing thing she's ever seen and known her entire life... Her eyes don't lie. She does care for that knucklehead without a doubt.'

'He's so amazing...' Nia thought as her eyes stay glued onto Naruto's smile, 'Did I make him smile just now...? Hah... so gorgeous... and handsome...'

She then softened her smile.

I don't understand why... guys can't be like him. I mean... he's just so damn nice it drives me insane. I feel like I can say anything to him without feeling like I'll be judged really harshly. I feel like I can be myself around him but be shy also. He's so nice... I wish guys were more like that. They're just so damn mean and judgmental over the dumbest shit... Man... Naruto's just like an angel. He's too good for this world...

With a sigh, Nia lowered her eyes.

I'd do just about anything to keep him smiling. Someone like him deserves to smile. He's so nice. A nice guy like him deserves the world. No, he deserves more than that. Even if he doesn't necessarily feel the same way about me, I'll always keep treating him like a king... and like a hero. Anyone who can bring someone out of a deep depression deserves everything. He has my deepest respect and approval... forever. He's a hero... my hero.
