Chapter 8

"Rebecca, I'm tired." Niall whined. I rolled my eyes and brought him to the nearest classroom. Here, pick a seat, there is about thirty of them. He looked at me and complained,

"I don't like hard seats, Rebecca, I like soft squishy ones." I raised an eyebrow and said,

"Only the best for you, your greatness." He smiled.

"Follow me." I said promptly, walking out of the classroom.

"Where are we going?" He asked with wonder. I just sighed. I wanted to say, are you always like this? or, why are you so impatient? It's funny how his personality changes so easily...

"Outside." I answered.

"Outside where?"

"Well, where are we right now? Astronaut High School, and it's a building. So outside would be outside of here, make sense baby Niall?" He folded his arms and I just laughed, "Use your brain, and maybe your questions will be answered." He was scowling now. I shook it off. Fine, be that way, I'm not forcing you to be grumpy, I thought.

-10 minutes later-

"Wow, Rebecca, this is beautiful. Why are you showing me this?" Niall asked.

"Because, there are 'squishy' seats out here." I answered giving him a look that said, 'You seriously forgot already?' He glared at me.

"So, where are the seats?"

"On the ground." I replied.

"So there aren't any seats?"

"Did I say that? No, I don't think I did. But look at the ground... the soft petals of the cherry blossom trees there, beautiful and untouched. That would be a nice place to sit right?" This time he raised his eyebrow and gave a faint laugh. I gave him a serious look and said,

"I've sat here before, it was 'squishy'. But if you want, we can sit in the small, hard, black seats in the classroom."

"Fine." He said stiffly. I win. I sat down next to him and after five minutes I laid myself down completely. A faint "ah" escaped my mouth. Niall snapped his head towards me and with annoyance,

"Well that looks comfortable." I laughed and said,

"I never told you that you couldn't lay down." After about two minutes he gave in and laid down beside me.

"Look up, Niall." I whispered softly. His eyes flickered open to see the beautiful night sky.

"See that? It's the Big Dipper." I added. He opened his mouth and said,

"There's Orion's Belt." He stated, pointing at three stars not to far apart.

"Yeah..." I said.

"Hey, Rebecca? Can I ask you something?" Niall said weakly.

"Sure, anything." I replied. He leaned close and whispered into my ear,

"You've got to swear you won't tell anyone."

"I swear."

"I'm staying here for a few months... and I need a place to stay." He said.

"Well... you definitely couldn't live with me... unless you lived in my car." I laughed.

"Okay, that's one place where people wouldn't guess me to be..."

"You're seriously going to take that as a possibility?" He nodded.

"But-" He put his finger to my lips. My expression said, "What?" that is, until he kissed me.
