I woke up to the sound of my iPod vibrating and replaying the sound of a loin's roar over and over. I groaned as I slowly reached for it and hit 'snooze'. I got up, went to the bathroom and put my clothes on. I wore a blue ae'ropostale shirt and jeans with sneakers. I quickly ate my oatmeal, went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth and called from across the house,
"Hey mom, I'm leaving for school now. Love you!" Mom was still in bed, and after she woke me up late about five times, I decided to take responsibility on waking myself up. I slung my back pack over my shoulder, and went to the garage. I got my orange mountain bike out of the corner and opened the garage door leading outside. I hopped on my bicycle and rode to school. It's no sweat, really. I've been riding my bike every day for two years straight. Even if it's just around the block.
By the time I got to school it was 7:30, and it only took about five, nine minutes to get there anyways. Plus, my house is only a mile away from my school. I placed my bike in the rack, went into the school building and entered my homeroom. When I looked around I saw I was the first person in there besides Mrs.Lesk who was smiling brightly at me. I smiled back and said,
"Good morning Mrs.Lesk, how are you?" It would be kind of weird having her watching my every move and not saying anything.
"Very well, how about you Miss. Rebecca?" She asked.
"Oh I'm fine. So what are we doing today?" I questioned. She gestured to the projection on the white ‘sheet’. On the screen it said 'Classwork: Main idea, worksheet, and report card. QUIZ TODAY. Homework: Essay, and corrections.' I guess it was okay, except for the fact that a chunk of my weekend is now in the trash because of the essay.
One by one, the rest of the students came into the room until everyone was present.
The whole day was really slow; I couldn't get my mind off the prom! At lunch, activity, class, etc. no one would stop talking about it too so that sure helped me forget it about it.....
"Rebecca, guess what? I got an iPhone 4gs yesterday! But it's not much different from the 3g, though. It has a clearer camera, screen, and y'know that robot girl. Still, it's pretty cool." Bethany said. I shrugged and said,
"Cool! What kind of case do you have for it?" I asked.
“Well, I didn't really get one yet.... but I'm probably going to get one this afternoon before prom. Oh, Rebecca, you want to hang out before prom to get ready and everything?" She said hopefully.
"Yeah, sure. Could you help me with my makeup a little?"
"Mhm." Out of the corner of my eye I saw Melissa glaring at me. I smiled a little, Bethany must've forgotten, either that or she just didn't want to talk to her. One point for me, I guess. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"So, eye shadow or no eye shadow?" Bethany asked me. She's asked me around fifty questions by now so I either say yes or no even if I should say the opposite. I looked up at her. She looked ok so I said,
"It depends, what shade were you thinking about?" She thought for a moment then said,
"Just the color of my skin, really."
"Ok, then put it on." I said smiling at her. I cleared my throat, "Should I put on eye shadow or any makeup?" She whipped around, still applying her own to her face and said simply,
"Maybe just a little, I mean, I wouldn't put on a lot. But if you are, maybe a light pink lipstick and barely noticeable blush." I nodded.
-An hour later-
"Bethany, you can go change into your dress in the bathroom" I replied. She immediately took her dress and exited my room.
I stared at my dress and shoes. This is it. This is going to be the party of my life...so far.
