Messing with Fate

Percy's POV:

As I was driving down the desolate road I flicked on the radio Shane put in and was happy to hear that the music was clear and not at all messed with by my driving. The song that came on was 'Safe and Sound' by Capital Cities. After another minute of driving at almost ninety miles an hour, I spotted a slow-moving speck and I turned the music up full blast as a mischievous smirk found its way across my face

Thalia's POV:

'I can't believe he's gone' I thought to myself as I sulked in the bed of the old beat-up truck

It's been at least two and a half hours since Percy singlehandedly destroyed the giant robot of the junkyard of the gods. Bianca had kept the mythomagic statue as a way of remembering Percy, but to say that everyone was livid at her would be an understatement.

'All she had to do was follow one simple order' I thought to myself as I heard a faint roar of an engine behind us but I ignored it

"Zoe, you do know where were heading right?" I asked as I looked at her to see her staring behind us with wide eyes

That's when I heard the lyrics 'Even if the sky is falling down, I know that we'll be safe and sound' and I turned to look behind us to see one, stubborn as Hades, son of Poseidon with a shit eating mischievous smirk on his face.

"I'm going to kill him" I muttered but Zoe shook her head

"Get in line, I got first hit" She responded and I nodded my head as we watched Percy drive past us on a motorcycle

He pulled up next to the driver's window and banged against the glass. Luke rolled down the window and just stared.

"Oi! Eyes on the road dude! Listen, we're coming up on Hoover Dam, take your next right!" Percy yelled and Percy had to move dangerously close to the truck as a car passed and Percy just flipped the driver off "OI! Can't you see I'm having a fucking conversation here!? For the love of Olympus!" He cursed angrily before he pulled ahead of the truck and went right with us following him towards Hoover Dam

"Well, he seems cheery" Zoe commented dryly and I nodded

"How the Hell did he do that?" I asked

"Do what? Come back from apparently dying after defeating Talos? Find an almost mint condition motorcycle in the junkyard of the gods? Or learn how to drive said motorcycle in about two hours?" Zoe replied bluntly and I just sighed

"Yes" I said simply and Zoe laughed slightly

"Perseus, from the short amount of time that I've known him" Zoe starts "Well, let's just say he is known for doing the unexpected, I wouldn't be surprised if he came up with the moto 'Go with the flow' or something like that" she finished simply and I nodded numbly

"What's next? A maiden goddess falling head over heels for him?" I questioned before Zoe looked at me with a half glare "Not Artemis of course, I was talking about someone like Athena or Hestia" I corrected but Zoe just smirked

"Maybe" She said simply which confused me but I shrugged it off as we finally started to slow down and pulled into Hoover Dam

We all piled out of the truck as Percy parked his bike and pressed a button causing it to disappear into a small black coin the size of poker chip. He then picked the coin up and pocketed it before walking over to us. When we saw him we all rushed him and clamped him in a huge hug.

"Percy! You're alright!" Grover bleated and he laughed

"Please don't do that again Percy, I couldn't bear the thought of losing one of my best friends" Luke said as he clung onto Percy like he would disappear
