Third Person POV:
As Percy neared the mountain he got a feeling of danger, however he continued walking towards the mountain. After a while, Perseus saw a slight glimmer of light coming from the base of the mountain. Curious, Percy picked up the pace and ran to the glimmer. However, what he saw made him stop in his tracks. A hundred-headed dragon was wound tightly around the base of a tree that held glistening golden apples, but really got Percy's attention was the mountain of a man walking away from the tree with a girl following him.
Percy's POV:
I watch the two walk away from the tree and I start to follow them silently. When they get to the edge of what looks like a garden the man turns to the girl.
"Thank you for your help pretty one, but I must get going" The man said before he turned around and started walking away
The girl looked at the man before calling out to him.
"Wait, where are you going next Heracles?" the girl asks
"I am off to complete my final task, so I may return home. I must thank you for the sword though." Heracles says
"May I join you, or at least come with you till the next town? Since I have aided you in retrieving an apple, I will be marked as a traitor and banished from the garden" the girl said slightly scared
I looked at Heracles and I noticed a bronze sword on his waist. 'That must be the girl's sword' I thought bitterly to myself.
"I am sorry but my journeys are no place for Women. I cannot protect you while we travel and I must complete my tasks quickly and you would just slow me down..." Heracles says before walking away leaving the girl there staring at him
I look at the girl and I notice that she started crying. I clench my fists and draw my spear and shield before walking out of my little hiding spot. I will myself to speed up so I cut Heracles off and I point my spear at him.
"You know it's not nice to make a girl cry, right?" I say and Heracles steps back obviously surprised to be cut off by a streak of sliver
However, Heracles recovers and unsheathes the sword.
"Do you know who I am?" Heracles snarled
"The guy that is going to get his ass kicked?" I respond and Heracles growls before he swings the sword downward in a heavy strike
I sidestep out of the way easily and kick his knee hard enough to elicit a loud cracking sound from the appendage. Heracles just looks at me with pure hatred as he makes a few wild swings with the sword. I block and parry with the skill and grace of a master dueler. After a while of being solely on defense I notice Heracles getting tired and I notice that he over extends on one of his slashes. I smirk internally as I step inside Heracles' guard and knee him in the stomach, causing him to drop the sword. While he is stunned I use my shield to bash Heracles' face, ultimately knocking him unconscious.
"Maybe you'll think twice about hurting a girl" I mutter as I pick up the sword and turn towards the girl and walk over "I believe this belongs to you ma'am" I say as I hand her the sword hilt first
She takes the sword hesitantly, and as her hand touches the hilt, the sword glows faintly before turning into a hair pin.
"T-Thank you... but why did you do that?" the girl asks curiously
"It is the right thing to do. I also may have a solution to your... predicament." I say and the girl looks at me "But it's gonna cost ya" the girl tilts her head slightly confused
"And what is the cost?" She asks slightly scared
"The cost of me helping you is... I have you know your name, that's it" I smile as the girl relaxes
"My name, is Zoë Nightshade. I'm a daughter of Atlas..." Zoe said and I chuckle
"My name is Percy Jackson, Son of Poseidon, and Guardian of Artemis." I say and Zoe's eyes widen
"Is that where you are going to take me?" Zoe asks hopefully and I smile
"Yeah, but I feel like it's a bit of a walk. Shall we get started?" I ask and I hear a low groan from behind me
I turn around and notice Heracles getting up, I start walking over to him but Zoe runs past me and kicks Heracles face, knocking him unconscious again. Zoe then looks at me.
"Let's get going! I don't want to look at that filth any longer than I have to." She says flatly and I chuckle
"Yeah, you'll fit right in with the Hunters" I say and I start walking toward the general direction the hunter's camp is in
A/N: Yes I know, Short. Really Really, Short. Deal with it. I'm tired and I'm currently charging my brain on my computer so I'm dealing with slight writers block.
