I woke up around 9:30 and everything seemed normal. Alex was on the couch watching TV while eating breakfast. The only difference from other days was that I was kind of being kicked out.

"You have to leave around 10." He said and shoveled his food into his mouth.

"Good morning to you too."

"Good morning," he swallowed and laughed. "But you have to leave soon." He set down his plate and got up. I watched as he went over to his wallet on the counter and pulled out his card.

"I have a limit. Don't go crazy," I reached out for the card but he pulled it away. "No living things," he pulled it away again. "Nothing that can hurt you." I reached for it but he pulled it away even more. "And no-"

"Give me the damn thing," I snatched it out of his hand and stuffed it into my pocket. "Thank you I make no promises." You see I was going to say no to spending his money but who could pass up this opportunity. Free shit for just going out for the morning.

"See you later Alex," I smiled and opened the door to our dorm. He looked like he wanted to take his card back, but I shut the door and went down the hallway before he even had a chance.

Luckily for him though I really didn't have any intention on spending his money. Except for maybe gas. I turned to look in my backseat to make sure I had my bag. I was going to visit my mom.

Alex's POV

"Alright boys we have all day to work on this." I looked at the four boys in front of me. Besides Quinn, this was going to be a disaster.

"Why are you even doing all this?" Jake asked as he took the packaging off of the decorations.

"Maybe because she deserves something nice for a change. I hear her get up every night and sometimes she cries." I looked at the guys and they all had a look on their face. "But also she's disturbing my sleep. Hopefully this will help her." I picked up one of the rolls of streamers and the tape.

Lana's POV

I took a deep breath before getting out of the car. She sounded fine, she's fine. The more I tell myself one thing the more I'll believe it. Maybe.

I got out of the car and walked up to the front of the building. Hospitals aren't really my thing they just creep me out. Everything just smells like cleaning supplies and sick patients. Which is understandable but it all makes me uncomfortable. It's even worse when these places become abandoned eventually.

As soon as I walked in I could hear a ton of voices and sounds coming from all directions. As relaxed as I could be, I walked to the front desk.

"Hi, I'm here to see my mom. Melissa Landon." She nodded and typed into her computer.

"Lana Landon?" She asked looking up at me. I nodded. "Alright dear. Here's your pass she's on the fourth floor." She handed me a card and sent me on my way. I looked at the paper to see where I had to go.

Great now I have to navigate through this place.

The elevator ride seemed extremely slow and maybe that's just how it always is or just me being delusional. When the doors finally opened I stepped out and started my quest to find the room. 682.

680...681...

I could see her inside sitting up and watching what I assume is TV. I knocked on the door and her head turned towards me. A huge smile spread across her face.

"Lana!" She laughed but started coughing right after. I went over to her quickly to make sure she was alright.

"Be careful mom." She brushed me off and pulled me in for a hug. There's really nothing like the warm embrace of your mom.

When I pulled away I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. I was too happy right now because I really did miss her. There was a chair behind me that I pulled closer to the bed so I could sit next to her. I also noticed some boys things scattered by the couch. Jackson must be here.

I pulled up a chair next to the bed so I could talk to her easier.

"How do you feel? Are you getting better? What are the doctors saying?" I interrogated. She gave out a breathy laugh but started to answer.

"Relax dear. I'm ok I told you. Jackson has been an angel helping me get my favorite jello. The doctors say I'm getting better so you don't need to worry. If anything I'll be out of here in a few weeks." She explained and reached for her water. I helped her while also feeling relief from her words.
