Chapter 52: Party

  Your POV
It was the night for Professor Slughorn's Christmas Party. I am extremely excited but am going alone. Since I can't go with Draco I won't bring anyone.

I walked down the corridor and found lanterns floating. I saw Harry and Luna all dressed up.

"Harry! Luna!" I called.

They turned around.

"Hey YN. You look stunning." Harry said.

"Thanks. Are you guys excited for the party?" I asked.

"Yeah." Luna replied.

"Well what are we waiting for? Let's get a move on." I giggled, running in front of them.

We arrived at the party. We hung out some until I saw Hermione sneaking behind a curtain. I nudged Harry and he followed me towards Hermione.

"Hey 'Mione." I greeted.

"Hey YN, Harry." She greeted back.

"Why are you back here?" Harry asked.

"I left Cormac under the mistletoe." She replied.

"You came with McLaggen!?" Harry asked.

"Yeah I thought it would annoy Ron the most." Hermione replied.

"He is almost as bad as Lavender!" I said.

"I know." Hermione replied, "Oh no, here he comes!"

And she made a run for it.

"Hey Harry, YN. Have you seen Granger?" Cormac asked.

"Nope." Harry and I said in unison.

"She's a slippery little minx, your friend." Cormac panted.

"See you guys later. Got to enjoy the party while it lasts." I said, not wanting to be in the presence of McLaggen.

"See ya YN." Harry replied.

I smiled and waved and I made a break for it.

I sighed.

Suddenly, Filch bursted in dragging Draco with him and he said, "Get your filthy hands off me you little Squib!"

"I found him snooping around and he claims he has been invited to your party." Filch informed.

"He's with me Mr. Filch. He said he'd meet me here." I said.

Draco looked at me confused. Filch let him go and stormed off.

"Why did you save me? We aren't supposed to make any contact remember!" Draco said.

"You're welcome." I said, sing-songingly.

"Mr. Malfoy. Can I talk to you?" Professor Snape asked.

"Of course...Professor." Draco said.

They walked out and I just stood there in shock. Draco never talks to me like that. Unless he's really stressed, which he probably is.

I made my way out, not really having any fun. I heard Professor Snape and Draco talking.

"I don't need your help!" Draco said.

"Let me help you. You are in no state to do this." Snape protested.

"If I don't do this YN will die! I don't know what I'll do without her! This has to be me! I was chosen." Draco snapped.

"I made the Unbreakable Vow. I have to help you!" Snape said.

"I have to do it. Or else He'll kill her!" Draco sobbed.

"Then let me help you to ensure her life is safe." Snape said.

Draco was silent, and no more was heard.
