  Draco's POV
I sat in the common room staring into the glowing fire. I smiled as I remembered how YN and I became friends.

Flashback

I got to the bottom step and noticed someone was sitting on one of the couches. I guess they must've noticed me because they turned around.

"Oh it's just you." YN said.

I sat beside her. She had a blue silk nightgown on and her hair was mess.

"Why are you down here? Shouldn't you be asleep?" She asked.

"I couldn't sleep. Why are you down here?" I answered.

"Couldn't sleep." She said shivering.

Draco don't you dare... Don't you dare. Too late.

"You want me to put the fire on?" I asked.

She looked at me with her sparkling (eye color) eyes and nodded.

I got up and lit the fire.

"Thanks." She said.

"No problem." I replied and I sat back down.

"I'm sorry for how I treated you earlier." I apologized.

"I'm sorry too." She said.

"You did nothing. I actually deserved it." I replied.

"But I shouldn't have said it." YN said.

She looked down and smiled.

"So how long are you staying here?" I asked.

"A week if I don't like it here." YN answered.

"Do you? I mean so far." I said.

"Well, you aren't as bad as I thought." She giggled.

"Do you think you'll stay?" I asked.

She looked at me and replied, "Maybe."

I smiled. "Can we be friends?" I asked.

She smiled shyly and said, "Sure. I'd love too."

End of Flashback

"Hey mate." Blaise said, snapping me out of my trance.

"Hey." I replied, sighing.

"Are you thinking about YN?" Blaise asked.

"There isn't a time when I'm not." I answered.

"You need to keep your mind off her. Try and do your task or something." Blaise said.

"It's not that easy, Blaise. Everything reminds me of her. No matter what I do, YN and I have done together and it reminds me of those times." I said, "Even the task..."

  Blaise's POV
"Hey Blaise!" YN greeted.

"Hey (your nickname)." I replied, "Whatcha up to?"

"Just getting ready for a dinner with Professor Slughorn. Other students are coming of course." She answered.

"Cool. Do you think you could help with my homework real quick?" I asked.

"I only have time for an assignment." She replied.

"Alright. Well the Defense Against the Dark Arts assignment has me stumped." I said.

I looked back at Draco and he was still staring at the fire.

"Hey YN." I said.

"Yeah Blaise." She replied.

"Draco is really having a hard time without you. He can't even focus on reality anymore without thinking of you." I said.

"I talked to him last night at the Astronomy tower and I guess that didn't help." YN replied.

"No doubt about that." I said.
••••• A few minutes later
"Well I have to go, Blaise. I'll try to help with the rest when I get back. Or possibly tomorrow." YN said.

"Okay see you later." I replied.

She smiled and walked off.

I walked over to Draco, who was working on his homework.

"Defense Against the Dark Arts, huh. Do you understand it?" I said.

"Yes I do. YN helped me understand a lot of it when I asked for help all those years ago." He answered.

"She is a really good person. You're lucky to have her." I said.

"Can we not talk about her? It only hurts when I do." Draco replied.

"Sure." I answered.

I feel really bad for Draco. I mean he is down in the dumps without YN. After all, she is the first friend and love he has had. Her life is on the line and Draco has it in his hands.
