Chapter 34

Fight bid goodbye to her students after their P.E class. Her eyes swelling and her face is sagging. She's been consistently unable to sleep properly.

She went out of the school gate and stumbled upon Lance, who came too early than his schedule of returning from Davao.

"Lance! umuwi ka, ta...tapos naba kayo mamili? akala ko two days?"

Lance shook off his thoughts and gave her a smile.

"nag-aalala kasi ako sayo, okay ka na ba?"

"saan?"

"yung tyan mo"

"ahhh oo yon! ano, may nakain lang ata akong kahapon parang yung bibingka na nabili ko sa palengke"

"ahh... wag kasi kain ng kain basta basta"

"oo nga eh"

"anong nangyare sa mata mo?" He step closer and wipes her eyes

"ah wala, insominia lang ilang araw narin"

"namiss mo ako?" He was about to kiss his lips but she quickly avoided that his lips landed on his left cheek

"ahh, mabaho ako, amoy pawis nag- P.E classes kami eh alam mo na, takbo dito takbo duon baka mahawa ka ang bango mo pa naman palagi"

"ahhh okay"

"ano nga yung sinabi mo?"

"wala... wala yon. Nga pala si Lemuel nagyayaya mag-dinner mamaya sa shop. mag-iihaw daw siya at may pa-beer"

"wow talaga? payagan mo akong uminom ah, pampatulog lang"

"sige, isang bot lang"

"go!!!"

They are complete for Faight invited her friends as well. They ate dinner together and cheered for few bottles as well. Lance force himself closer to Faight, rubs her arms to provide heat for the night is freezing cold. While she drinks her beer, He brushes her hair and smells her shoulder. But whenever he tries to get closer, Faight seems to put a space between them.

"Lem! jacket o to? pahiram ah"

"payakap ka nalang kay tisoy, uusin mo pa amoy ng jacket ko binuhusan ko pa naman ng cool water yan"

"sige na hihiram lang eh"

"oo na oo na, suntukin pako ng jowa mo pag humindi ako eh"

Something invisible pierced Lance's heart. He can feel her slowly pushing him away. He can see how she tries so hard to avoid him.

He walks her towards the entrance of her apartment. Her dull expression made him so anxious that he talks about anything he could think of.

"alam mo ba muntik na kaming hindi makauwi agad"

"oo, paano tong si Lemuel lumandi ba naman duonsa sales lady, kung hindi ko pa tinakot hindi pa kami makakauwi agad"

"bakit ka naman kasi nagmamadali"

"kasi nga may sakit ka, hindi ako mapakali eh"

"Lance, laging ganito" She stopped from walking

"laging ano?"

"ganito, bigla bigla nalang na minamadali mo ang lahat ng gawain mo para sa akin, kung pwede lang itigil mo ang lahat ititigil mo eh, wag mo pahintuin ang mundo mo kakasunod sa akin"

"kakasunod sayo... ayaw mo ba non? kasi ako gusto, lagi kitang kasama gusto kong naaalagaan kita at mapasaya. Faight sa tingin mo ba panahon na para pag-usapan natin yung sa atin?"

"Lance... I'm tired"

He paused for a while and stepped back from her. Took a deep breath and tried his best to swallow the pain he is feeling.

"sige, pahinga ka na"

"no you don't understand I meanI'm tired, sa ganito natin. I am not comfortable with all of these sobrang bilis i don't know, I think we should stop seeing each other for a while. I'm just... tired"

"kaya nga sabi ko diba, pahinga ka muna"

He waited for her to get inside the apartment and left. Faight buried his face on her bed. She turned and faced the ceiling. Looking at it for a minute after then a tear starts to fall from her eyes.
