Justin

I sighed, dropping my bags onto my bed. The home-ey feeling was a godsend as I looked around my half decorated room.

A knock came from my bedroom door and I glanced over, sending a smile to my brother.

"How was it down under?" Niall asked in a ridiculously stupid Australian Accent.

"That was awful, nobody sounds like that in Australia." I giggled a bit.

"Fine, my accent is a little off... but the questions still there... what was it like? Come on, you've got a glow about you and youve only been home ten minutes." Niall laughed, walking to me suspiciously.

"Well," I began, humming, "I tried all their food, I taught myself guitar again, and I wrote at least 20 songs about a kangaroo."

Niall rose a brow, "You wrote what?"

I grinned, "20 songs about a kangaroo."

Niall just laughed at that, shaking his head, "You look good.. you feeling better?"

I shrugged, "I had some time to get to really know myself in the past three months... I guess I'm finally ready to move on."

"From Jason or the situation?" Niall asked.

"Jason will probably never want to talk to me again... I left without saying goodbye, and we left on not so good terms." I frowned, remembering our last conversation.

I know I should have said goodbye, or told him what I was going to do more clearly... I hope he doesnt hate me for what I did.

"Mum keeps pretty close to Debbie... Even Dad and Rob go fishing every Sunday now..." Niall hummed, "I even babysat Oliver last week... he was grounded over something."

I licked my lips, "And how's Jason?"

Niall half smiled, "He's a bit rocky.... I mean, he talks nice to me and mum and dad; but he hasnt been doing so good... apparently he didnt come home for two days a few weeks ago and his parents were freaking the hell out."

"Really?" I frowned, wondering if this was my fault.

"He's just acting out... he'll be fine. You should focus more on starting your new fresh life." Niall ruffled my hair.

"Boys! Come on down! We're going out for dinner to celebrate Justin coming home!" My mother yelled from downstairs.

I sighed. Its good to be home.

Jason

"Where are you going?" Mum frowned, racing after me as I went to exit the house.

"Meeting my friends at McDonald's..." I replied, grabbing the door handle.

"I thought you could stay in tonight, or well, stay home... we're going out for dinner, I mean... and we want you to be there." Mum tried to coax me.

I rolled my eyes, "But, I already told my friends I'd meet them-"

"Cancel. Its important." Mum huffed.

"Maybe I dont want to." I argued.

"Maybe you have to." Mum snapped back.

"No."

"Yes."

"I'm leaving!"

"You take a single step out of that door, I will rip you by your ear right back in!"

I growled, slamming the door shut only seconds after opening it. I turned to face Mum, her height a good four inches smaller than mine.

"Whats so important about this shitty dinner?" I crossed my arms.

Mum glared, "Its very important..."

"You said that already... why's it important?" I groaned, sick of guessing games.

"I..." Mum frowned, before sighing, "I dont want to say."

"Well unless I hear a good enough reason, I'm going to leave-"

"Your father." Mum rushed out, grabbing my arm before I could attempt to open the door again.

"Rob is my step-father, I call him Rob, not Dad, Father, Sir, Papa, Pop, Papi, Daddy-O... its not happening no matter how many years he claims to have raised me." I argued, not in the mood for her to make another request like that again.

She asked me when I was ten whether or not I wanted to call Rob, Dad... I mean, yes, he's raised me since I was like really little, but he's just not my Dad... I cant actually call him Dad... Its too heartfelt.

"No, Jason." Mum shook her head, "Your real father... Maxwell..."

I froze, wait. What?
