149: Missing Emperor

"The current proxy is the son of the Right Prime Minister, while the first consort elected by force during Oliver's reign is the daughter of the Finance Minister. Both General Li and his son, along with the son of Left Prime Minister went along with Oliver."

From the way Seth said things, there was no need for further investigation. "Wicked, wicked..." Imhe murmured in one corner. Though she was a brat before she died, she knew a scheme when presented so blatantly. 

Lea quietly agreed. "Find Oliver's location." 

She feared she was too late. After all, it had been a while since the last time she visited Escarcha. 

Seth bowed once more before disappearing into thin air. Lea turned to the Spirits that were now in the form of little insects or mice, then she issued them commands.

[Search every nook and cranny. Report any suspicious activities to me ASAP.]

When the Spirits acknowledged her words, the rest were surprised to suddenly see extraordinary lights shimmer all over the place. The Spirits turned into chameleon butterflies, spreading across the old City of Wern. 

"What happened...?" Bright slowly asked, turning his head left and right. 

"Just Spirits doing their job." Lea nonchalantly said, walking towards the entrance of the city.

The rest followed after despite the questions in their head. Sometimes, they couldn't help but quietly complain at Lea's indifferent to explain certain things...

Though Victor completely had no problems, while Raize himself didn't have to think very much.

As soon as Lea stepped into the city, she was welcomed by the familiar sight of a certain Elder. The Elder ran up to her and hesitated to hug Lea, eventually deciding not to embrace the taciturn girl that always rejected her kindness. Still, she couldn't help but love Lea all the same.

Miracles followed after the girl herself, making her belief on the goddess even stronger than she was a child. "Priestess...!" 

Lea felt the corner of her lips twitch. Some people never changed. "Hello."

Unfazed by Lea's short response, the Elder generously blabbered her mouth.

"It's been such a long time... Look at the City of Wern! If King Louis saw this sight, he would cry from happiness... Even more if it was his father! And the coronation of the new Emperor is coming soon, just in time for your arrival!"

This stopped everyone from looking around. Lea frowned, and asked, "Name of the Emperor?"

"Hm? Why, of course it's Guanyu Jiahao, the second son of Right Prime Minister Guanyu! He makes a lovely couple with consort Shi An, of the Shi Family."

"Ehn. Very informative." Lea approved. Now her tasks became much easier.

[Victor, fetch me this lady Shi An from somewhere.] She secretly communicated, and Victor quietly obeyed, disappearing right away. Nobody even noticed except Imhe and Raize.

"I'll go visit this Guanyu Jiahao for now." Lea nonchalantly said, as if she was merely visiting someone's house.

The Elder did not seem to find this improper, and even smiled wider. "Yes, of course! I hope you have a pleasant time with Acting Emperor Guanyu, Priestess!" 

It can only be said how much devotion this Elder had for Lea, for not even questioning her actions no matter how inappropriate nor out of bounds. 

Raize stared at the Elder weirdly, feeling awkward at hearing someone call Lea 'Priestess' here, 'Priestess' there... Still, he followed after Lea obediently, not even worried about the current predicament.
