Aribella!

"Aribella, I'm not playing with you!"

I tuned up the music on my ipod louder.  There was no way in hell that my Mother was going to get me to wear that dress.  No, friggen way!

"Aribella, why are you ignoring me?"

She stood just inside my bedroom.  God, why wouldn't they let me have a lock for the door.  Was it to much to ask?  I'm seventeen, hardly a pup!

I slid the head phones off of my head and sighed,

"Yes Mother?"

She stood here with her hands on her slender hips,

Her lips were drawn into a tight line.

"Your changing Aribella and I'm not sure if I like it.

Whats going on with you?"  She asked as she sat on the edge of my bed.

"Mom... nothings going on, I'm just bored out of my mind,

how much longer before I can leave our land?"

"I miss my friends.. I miss my life."

I whined to her.

Summer vacation had started a week ago, yet here I was confined to my damn house. I couldn't so much as step my pinky toe off of our property.

Granted we lived on a sprawling 5 acres but who cares.

Most all of my friends lived a twenty minute drive away.

"Aribella you must not think of leaving the property, you know its not safe.

Hasn't your Father went over this with you?"

"The oh so mighty Alpha Gray?

If you call him grunting at me any kind of explanation...

then I guess so mom."

"You will show some respect when you speak of your Father!  He has a hard job and you know he is doing what needs to be done for the pack."

She softened her voice,

"He's doing what he has to to protect us Ari,

rouges have been spotted,

we need to make sure they are captured or destroyed.

This confinement wont last forever honey."  She said in her soothing voice.

"Okay. I mumbled."

"Now, onto other things.

I need to see how the dress fits you.

I've hung it up in your bathroom, please try it on for me."

"Mother!"

I glared at her as she pointed towards my bathroom.  Sighing heavily I wrapped up my  ipod and placed it on my night stand.  Heavy footed, I made my way into the bathroom.

I looked at the disaster of a dress.  I quickly slipped it on and marched out of the bathroom.  When my mom saw me she started to clap.

It was quite obvious that she loved the dress on me.

"You look so beautiful Ari, twirl around for me."

I cringed as I twirled for her in a small circle.

I looked like a walking sun flower!

The dress had to of been brighter then the sun its self.

To make it worse the bottom half of the dress was crinkled.

The fabric... hell... I couldn't even identify it.

"MOM, I cant wear this."   I said as I tugged on the lace collar.

Stiff white lace outlined the collar and the sleeves, which were horribly puffy I might add.

The dress was long and rested just above my ankles,

of course the bottom was also trimmed in that same lace.

I bent down and scratched my leg.

"I cant wear this."  I said again.

"Sweetie its lovely,

you will be the most beautiful girl at the Moon Goddess Festival."

" I just knew it would fit you perfectly."

She said as she clapped her hands again.
