Chapter Fifty-Two - Triwizard Tournament

Start from the beginning

Now slip me snug about your ears, I've never yet been wrong, I'll have a look inside your mind And tell where you belong!

As the sorting hat finished it's song the Great Hall applauded it. Professor McGonagall unrolled a large scroll of parchment, "When I call out your name, you will put on the hat and sit on the stool. When the hat announces your House, you will go and sit at the appropriate table." She told the first years, "Ackerley, Stewart!"

A boy walked forward, visibly trembling, "RAVENCLAW!" the hat shouted.

"Baddock, Malcolm!"

"SLYTHERIN!"

"Branstone, Eleanor!"

"HUFFLEPUFF!"

"Cauldwell, Owen!"

"HUFFLEPUFF!"

"Creevey, Dennis!" The tiny boy, wearing Hagrid's coat, sat down on the chair and placed the hat on his head and waited.

"GRYFFINDOR!"

The boy ran over to the Gryffindor table, "Colin, I fell in! It was brilliant! And something in the water grabbed me and pushed me back in the boat!"

"Cool!" said Colin, he was just as excited as his brother. "It was probably the giant squid, Dennis!"

"Wow!" Dennis said as though it was the greatest thing ever. Eliza and Oliver shared a smile before watching the rest of the sorting ceremony.

After everyone had been sorted, Professor McGonagall picked up the hat and stool and carried them away.

Professor Dumbledore stood up, smiling at them all, "I have only two words to say to you. Tuck in."

Eliza grinned to herself as she saw all the delicious food appear in front of her, "This  looks lovely."

"I know right." The twins replied, half the food already in their mouth, "I love it."

Oliver shook his head as the three quickly ate all the food from their plates, "You guys are terrible."

"They've always been terrible." Angelina told him while laughing at her friends.

Once all the puddings had been eaten too and the plates had been cleared away, Professor Dumbledore got to his feet again. The noise in the Hall stopped and everyone turned to see what he was going to say now. "So!" Dumbledore shouted loudly, "Now that we are all fed and watered. I must once more ask for your attention, while I give out a few notices. Mr. Filch, the caretaker, has asked me to tell you that the list of objects forbidden inside the castle has this year been extended to include Screaming Yo-yos, Fanged Frisbees, and Ever-Bashing Boomerangs. The full list comprises some four hundred and thirty-seven items, I believe, and can be viewed in Mr. Filch's office, if anybody would like to check it." Dumbledore began to smile, "As ever, I would like to remind you all that the forest on the grounds is out-of-bounds to students, as is the village of Hogsmeade to all below third year.It is also my painful duty to inform you that the Inter-House Quidditch Cup will not take place this year."

Most of the Gryffindor table turned to look at Oliver, the boy's eyes were widened and his mouth slightly open, "Wh, wh, wha, what." He managed to let out, still staring at Dumbledore unsure about what he had just said.

"Ol, Ollie." Eliza shook his arm, "Snap out of it."

"You can't cancel Quidditch." He shouted loudly so everyone in the room could hear him. "He's cancelling Quidditch, you can't cancel Quidditch." He turned to Eliza.

Trying her hardest not to laugh, Eliza patted his arm comfortingly, "Don't worry Ollie, you'll be okay." She looked over to see the twins talking without actually making any noise.
