Chapter Thirty Three: One Call Away

The two left hugging each other.

"Babe, you know what this is the happiest day for me"

"Why Love?"

"Kasi nakilala ka na nila Mommy & Daddy. Ikaw pa lang ang unang lalaking nakilala nila"

"As in? So talagang special ako?"

"Oo naman. Super special ka kaya, lalo na dito oh (pointed out his chest)"

"Sus, may pagkacorny ka rin pala minsan Love"

"Ewan ko sayo"

"But wait Love, you texted me kanina na may sasabihin ka sa akin? Remember?"

"Ah yeah. Ahm Ba-be kasi Me and Andrea are planning to go home at Davao and take some vacation before my licensure exam"

"Oh i see. Well, nagplano rin kasi kamj ni Mark na magbabakasyon before the exam also"

"Really? San naman niyo balak? London, Singapore, or Hong kong?"

"Love, ang lalayo naman. Pwede naman sa Pilipinas lang kami magbakasyon. Somewhere in —"

He stop when someone called the name of Dawn.

"Dawnskiiii" a voice of a man

He hurriedly run to the table wherein Richard Dawn was. He hug her tightly.
"Miss me again? It's been a year! Tita told me na uuwi ka daw sa Davao bukas! tamang tama sabay sabay na tayo" he realized that he was carried away and didn't notice that Richard was there. "Ay pare nandyan ka pala. Pasensya na, namiss ko lang tong Dawnskii ko eh" he added.

"Oh, bakit ka ba andito? I mean diba graduation niyo na rin?"

"Ah yeah. Meron lang pinakuha sa Manila si Mama. Tsaka next week pa naman ang graduation namin eh"

"Oh i see. Wait, nagkakilala naman na kayo right? But not in formal way"

"Ako ng magpapakilala sa sarili ko Love. Pare Richard Gomez, Dawn's boy friend" and he held his hand.

Dave also held his hand as an answer. "Dave nga pala, Dawn's best friend, childhood friend"

Before Dawn can speak they heard a phone ringing and it was for Richard.

"Hello....Yes speaking....what??????..where is that.....i'm on my way" He end the call teary eyes

"Babe, what's wrong?"

"S-i Ja-mes naaksidente"

"Oh gosh. Nasan na daw siya?"

"Nasa Asian hospital"

"Bakit ang layo? Papunta ba siyang Laguna?"

"Maybe. Can you come with me Love. I can't make it on my own. Hindi ko alam ang nararamdaman ko ngayon. Natatakot ako, kinakabahan. pano kung—"

"Shhhh. Don't think negative Babe, remember i'm here always for. I'm only one call away right? Sige na ako na magdadrive. Don't panic ok?"

"Ano? Dawn ikaw magdadrive? Alalahanin mo Alabang ang pupuntahan niyo nasa manila pa kayo. Kung gusto niyo ako na lang magdrive para sa inyo" Dave.

"Babe, i think he's right. Para mas mabantayan kita. Can i have your key"

he gave the key to Dawn and she gave it to Dave. They now in their way to his car. The couple occupied the back seat. The ride was just quiet, Dave stares at them time to time while Dawn is still comforting Richard who's still in shock about the news he heard. Their hands intertwined. "Sana ako na lang sa ganyang kalagayan para ako na lang ang nasa tabi mo at damang dama ko ang pagmamahal mo. Ang sakit Dawn, bakit ba kasi naisipan ko pang ipagdrive tong mokong na to eh. Kailangan ko ng bilisan para hindi na to makaiskor pa!" Dave in a back of his mind. He just back on reality when Dawn speak.
