Chapter 41: Tonight

"No"

"You know you want me to" he traced his lips down my neck

"No Jace ."

"Why"

"Maisy will wake up"

"No she won't, she's a heavy sleeper"

"No Jace"

"We haven't done anything in months. You're killing me Em."

"Look, I'll see if my mom can watch her some night this week, and then, we can go out, just you and me. Okay?"

"See if she can do it tonight"

"Tonight?"

He nodded "I can get out of work at 6"

"I'll see if she can... it's short notice though"

"If she can't mine will"

"Okay okay... go before they hold you later then"

"What time is it?"

"5:14"

"Shit" he mumbled

"Exactly Mr.Procrastinator, now go" I laughed

"Alight" he quickly kissed me then walked over to grab his sweatshirt off the table, taking his keys and his phone and shoving it into his pocket.

"Love you" he called from the front door

"I love you too" I sat down on the couch as he left.

Instead of falling back to sleep, I decided to get up and get ready.

Leaving the bathroom door opened, I quickly got into the shower. Knowing how loud of a crier Maisy is, I'd for sure hear her if she wakes up.

After five minutes of constant off and on of the water, my paranoia sped up my shower.

Wrapping a towel around me, I walked out into the living room to find her still sound asleep.

I walked back down the hallway to my room, finding a pair of ripped jeans and simple colored t-shirt. Slipping my pants on, it felt unusual. I hadn't worn jeans since I had gotten pregnant.

I wrapped the towel in my hair and slipped on socks before walking back out to the kitchen.

Looking at the time, it was still too early to call my mom.

I made myself some food and sat down at the counter, scrolling through my phone. I jumped, dropping my phone on the counter when Maisy started crying. I'll never get used to the sudden loud noise.

"Shhh it's okay" I picked her up and bounced her up and down lightly.

The phone rang.

Bending my head back to let the towel slide off into the floor, I quickly walked to the counter to catch the phone.

"Hello?"

"Hey Emily!"

"Hi Mrs.Norman"

"Jace called. You need me to watch Maisy tonight?"

I rolled my eyes. This boy was so instant.

"Oh- I was gonna call my mo- if you're not busy"

"Yeah no I'd be glad to!"

"Okay, thank you"

"Yeah no problem, what time are you guys going out?"

"Later tonight, Seven I think"

"I'll be over to get her at six then?"

"Sounds good!"

After a few more minutes, we hung up.

Tonight would be... good
